An obvious attention to production values isn't enough to sway me by itself (as the fact that I'm not a huge fan of Wand, Wistoria, and Sword should testify) but at the very least it means that the project isn't a quick cash grab knock-off.
Point being, I was willing to give this one a look, but I was pretty skeptical about it until I saw the trailer. Even if I don't like this anime, it's obvious that someone put a lot of heart and elbow grease into it, and it looks like it could be a lot of fun. |

That sure was a lot to take in for one episode. I have absolutely no idea in what direction the show is heading but it seems to be a very well animated and crazy ride. The mc duo is an interesting one and we seem to be having some romance already. The episode was also all about those wieners with a ghost taking/cursing one and the aliens wanting to use their robotic ones for certain activities.
So yeah, interested to see more crazy shit. |

Thanks to the quirkiness of the first episode, this was my second favorite of the four shows that I watched today. Hopefully, it won't take to long to introduce the other four characters that appear in the key illustration. I'm guessing since its featured in the ending animation, the cat might be on the screen quite often.

The show was so frantic to get to the action and so busy screaming that I didn't really have time to invest in the characters much, but I liked the bits that got through, and the show was a lot of fun. Kind of like if Supernatural and the X-files and a romance anime collided at a 4 way intersection with a freight truck full of cocaine.

Well, I tried. But I just found the two leads, especially Dweeb, too screechy and annoying. Just call me Dr. No these days. I've also dumped Is It Wrong sequel. My God, WHAT'S HAPPENING TO ME???

Blood - Welp, I don't think not responding to this anime is necessarily a warning sign or anything. I had to turn my brain off (and very effectively too... I just edited this because I typed off twice for some reason) to just go with the surreal chaotic traffic jam. I admired the art and all the weird touches, but I didn't think this anime lived up to all the hype, personally.
As to the larger question of whether you're losing your anime mojo, are you missing time? Have you discovered any circuitry floating around in your toilet ? Have you checked your body for injection scars? Are you waking up with odd memories of lab coats and being strapped to a metal table? Because based on what I know of you, if you aren't experiencing at least one of those things, something may indeed be wrong I'd give Negative Positive Angler a try, personally. It's my favorite show of the season so far. |

Tried Angler. Couldn't get through the first episode. Just wasn't grabbing me. Actually, I'm not worried about losing my anime mojo. Recently, I've been going through my Patlabor collection and absolutely loving it, so I know I'm not burnt out on anime or anything. I've just become way less tolerant of things that aren't grabbing me. Tried Acro Trip, Trillion Game and 365 Days to the Wedding. No, no, no. But if I dump the latest instalment of Blue Exorcist, it may be time to call a therapist...
I also know that I'm not just fixated on "good" anime. Along with Patlabor, I've been watching some of the cheesy Central Park Media OVAs and movies in my collection. Crap like Harmageddon. I'm not enjoying them in the same way I do good anime, but there is something fun about them. So I guess I have a tolerance for old crap as opposed to new crap? Yay? |

@Blood-
I'm sorry Blood-, I didn't want to tell you but for some time now you have been suffering from selectivity syndrome. That is where you admit it is impossible to watch everything anime and find yourself discriminating. Unfortunately, it appears you are moving on to the next step, personal preference. That is where you decide to watch something based on actually liking it instead of because others say it is good. There are two more steps. In the next step you start telling others what they must be watching to be real fans. In the final step you start telling others that they are redacted if they don't agree with you. That is when you become a genuine unpleasant person. I hope you don't go that far. |

Alan45, why are you wasting time posting in this thread when you should be immersed in Watching Paint Dry in Another World which is a bona fide MASTERPIECE!!! If you won't watch it and love it more than you love your own wife, then you aren't a TRUE anime fan!
Heh-heh-heh. Don't worry, Alan45, I don't plan to become one of those types. And if I do, you have permission to riddle my shambling form with a staple gun. |

Thanks, I hate it. When one of your main characters is more concerned about being dumped than being roundhouse kicked by her boyfriend, you have a bad writer. And the punk was walking away like he was the one hurt, I have so many question about who wrote this...
The aliens were after a working uterus, the old hag was after a penis... really, so many questions... In the end, the aliens were driven away but the penis was still possessed... Too many questions... No, I'm done. I don't care. |

It does seem to be a bit hit or miss in that aspect. It is no dealbreaker for me but I do hope that further episodes are a bit less focused on weeners.

Yeah, I don't love this. I see stuff of value- the production is excellent of course, and the characters seem like they might be engaging and/or likable. Digging up those jewels though required sifting through lots of screeching, really questionable humor, and a narrative that just screams "lol look how weird I am lololol". I'm not even uncomfortable- just confused at how I'm supposed to find it engaging.
Like as not, I'll give it another episode to confirm the early season trajectory. But I can't say I've a great deal of hope that it'll click for me. Ah well. At least others enjoy it. |

Dammit Alan45, here I was all set to start calling Blood “Goldi-crock" and making fun of him for insisting that every anime be “just right” and now you’ve ruined it with your "Ooooh, let's be all mature" comments about things like tolerance and not catering to the mob and blah blah blah. Anyway, whatever, that's fine. You guys just go on ahead with your little “Personal Preference“ party. I have to go back and revise the post I started when I read Blood’s comments about not liking Negative Positive Angler. (Lessee…change that word to *fudge.* Maybe say “reconsider” instead of “RECANT!” there...and I guess I shouldn’t call that anime he mentioned Pat-laborious since I haven’t actually seen it, geez...) |

Don't hold back on Blood- on my account. He just loves the abuse. Seriously, if you can find access to Patlabor, it is well worth the watch. Better than a lot of stuff that is coming out currently. Dan Da Dan is not in my ballpark, it is a bit too loud and screechy for me. However, I'm stuck with it for a couple of more episodes. My wife's nephew is pushing it hard after reading the manga. Since I have been telling him what to read or watch and giving him access to my library, I pretty much have to give it a fair try. In the manga, turbo granny took and kept his balls not his bat. i wonder why the change. |
