Looks great, I just wish we had a more concrete plan for releasing Yamato officially in the West.

Me Too. While I want to continue to see new Yamato, The series originally aired 50 years Ago! I’d love 1974 and 2010 Yamato on Blu!

Me three. This looks fantastic but it's pretty disheartening to see that there are no plans to release this in the West yet... I wonder if they'll turn it into a full TV series next year or something like they did with the 2 prequels...

Could they at least resume English-subtitling the discs if they’re not going to release them outside Japan? :(

What's Crunchyroll doing, not licensing more Yamato for North America? I have the first two remake shows, I want everything else, dubbed too.

Always fascinating to see how one of the first anime successes in America continues to be ignored in America despite betting a long-form remake but these also heavily rely on Japanese fans buying insanely priced Blu Rays at the screenings. It´s not the 80s anymore of course.
I wonder how Macross would be doing overall abroad if the IP hadn´t been shredded by legal nonsense since the 90s.

The US has had Space Battleship Yamato aka Star Blazers since 1979. 3 seasons and the first 5 Yamato Films (not called Star Blazers) on Video tape and dvd. I want Blu Rays of Classic and New Yamato. Resurrection on Blu would be nice too, as it has never been available in the US. Of course it is the one Yamato film that Leiji Matsumoto had nothing to do with.
