Also, what happened to Ames Rayne and his fight with Jon Pierre? Ames telling us how strong Jon is, and we don't know what happened after that?

Yeah, the first episode of the second season is just as crazy and fun as the previous one. The OP gives me Mob Psycho 100 flashbacks btw.

Magic music dude will probably be a bit of a problem for Mash, but he has his friends and muscles to get him through. It also seems like triple liners are no joke.

There's a part of it that reminds me of the chorus from Ya Boy Kongming! whose OP I adored. The "Bling-Bang-Bang-Born" chorus from the Mashle OP sounds reminiscent of "A chicky-chicky bam bam" from Ya Boy to my old ears. |

The tournament has begun and it is once again a crazy time. Between more unhinged antagonists (both music magicians in particular), Mash being a muscle monster (gotta have that shake) and the jokes being crazy (of course the crystals get broken) it is more Mashle.
Also, yeah, the OP is very funky and stays in your head. |

So Mashle and Fireren are both doing an exam tournament arc here that involves teams of 3, interesting to see how they compare as we move forward.

That was very satisfying. The formula for this show never changes and mostly I'm onboard. But I wouldn't mind if they changed things up a bit. Yes, we get it: there's arrogant pricks out there who need to be taken down a peg or two... cool. But, I dunno, can we do something else just once? Hell, I'd even settle for simply changing the viewpoint of the antagonist du jour... instead of, "you're trash and all trash level people deserve to get squashed" that I believe every single bad guy has articulated so far, why not give a villain a different agenda?

I think we have the central group of bad guys for that. Given the OP it would seem that they will pop up sooner rather than later too. The episode was another exciting conflict and it showed that while Finn lacks in magic, he does not lack in grit. As for mr can feel no pain, his reaction reminds me a bit of that one clown that from Cowboy Bebop, if I remember correctly that dude also had never felt pain before.
