You know, I didn't realize NTV was airing both Frieren and The Apothecary Diaries -- the two shows that had multi-episode premieres this season. Coincidence, or could the tactic have been their idea? Are they on the production committee for either show? I can't tell from TAD's credits who's actually on the committee.

The producers for both are pretty much the same, except Frieren has Aniplex in the mix while Apothecary Diaries has Square Enix and Imagica Info.
Producers(same for both);
Dentsu
Nippon Television Network
TOHO animation
Shogakukan

I jumped on that bandwagon. TAD is so good.

I think the idea of airing multiple episodes at once, or longer special debut episodes can be a goid idea. Some stories need a but more set-up before they get going, and Oshi No Ko is an example of one that definitely helped. Much the same for Frieren, and I think it helped people get the overall feel of what the show is about better which aided them in the long run, even if the first 20 mins of either coukd've bedn strong enough on their own, there was certainly bigger hype with a longer debut.
