The new Astroboy show premiered today on Saturday morning WB. I haven't seen it but sure have fond memories of the original. I was just wondering if it was just as charming as the older 80s cartoon. Two other questions: How is the dub and did they keep the astroboy theme song? That was one of the best theme songs ever!

Well, I watched it last night, and the dub seemed to be pretty good. Not sure about your other questions, as I haven't seen the original of either the 60's/80's Astro Boy or this one in Japanese, sorry. But I will say that I liked this show, very well done, just like Metropolis, Tezuka Osamu seems to be have been a great guy, from these 2 shows of his that I have seen, just wish I had discovered both shows/manga, before he passed away. |

I like it, it showed off a lot of Tezuka's imagination. I loved the concept of contruction bugs, it just seemed like such a perfect idea. The voices were good, very well acted, music didn't seem to be too grueling, the animation was nice, but somehow seemed too dark on TV. The story wasn't bad, but it seemed like it rushed Astro development a bit too quick. Probably the only thing that really annoyed me was the previews at every commercial break, seemed like they were just trying to take up time. I'll keep watching it until Fox Box starts showing new episodes again.

I actually didn't get a chance to watch it, but it looks good...unfortunately, it's that time for me to watch anything sports instead of anime...but at least i get to watch kenshin again after that...
