Was anyone else surprised that the new Freedom is so blue? I mean, the previous ones were mostly white.
Also, who is piloting the Justice? Athrun wasn't in the PV, but we did get a brief shot of Kira, Shinn, Luna, and the new girl taking off, so... is Shinn the pilot of the Justice now? |

I wonder how many people involved actually read even one of his books. I bet you could count them on one hand. |

I really appreciate them showing off the mechs after I complained we haven't gotten any info on them from the last PV.
I really like the new designs. (Though I think the Gyan is weird.) I'm also impressed by how committed they are with the new animation style. |

ISTR that the Japanese translation of Starship Troopers with the powered armor suit designs by Studio Nue was fairly popular with anime creators. |

So apparently these are weaker versions of Freedom and Justice due to a treaty made in the finale of Destiny
Junius Treaty forbid all factions to use and develop technology based on Neutron Jammer Canceller and Mirage Colloid. Freedom and Justice at least salvageable as none of their weapons uniquely developed from any of it but Destiny and Providence. It almost impossible running Destiny without NJ Canceller due to Wings of Light (which based on Mirage Colloid) energy consumption. Providence and Legend design also said to be possible because of NJ Canceller so both of them cannot simply replace their nuclear generator with regular battery compare to Freedom and Justice. |

Is that from official material? Or just guessing? I was thinking from the PV that Freedom looks much lower spec compared to Strike Freedom as it uses a physical shield and might not have Super Dragoons. It would make a lot of sense if these weren't nuclear powered. It gives them an in universe explanation for why Kira would need a new suit so soon since Strike Freedom didn't have a scratch on it at the end of Destiny. |

spoiler[There's a leaked image that showed both of these Freedom and Justice designs, called Rising Freedom and Immortal Justice, but it also showed the new Strike Freedom and Infinite Justice. So odds are the whole Nuclear Treaty thing is legit and something will happen later in the film that will require them to pull out the new upgraded SF and IJ. And yeah, Shinn was piloting the Justice, but Athrun will pilot the new IJ and Shinn will get a new Destiny by the end. These were all from the same leak which has continuously been proven accurate with each trailer.] |
