The few people who claim who saw the preview eps at the Crunchyroll expo earlier this year say it started off well, so there is some hope, i mean they better, s2 was badly received and produced and i hope they actually listened to the backlash and fixed it up.

Also looked like they slipped in some scenes from the actual OP in the trailer? Or ED?

Definetily the opening. Shingo Yamashita's style is very recognizable, plus the opening already got leaked before.
