Does anyone else remember when the second movie, or was it the third one, came out and there was a statement that it was going to be the last one? That turned out to be a big fat lie we now have a 4th movie coming out. Not that I’m complaining I enjoy the MHA movies so I’m glad we’re getting another one. I guess we’ll have to wait and see what the movie will be about but given that it’s apparently taking place during the current arc, this one might have a darker tone than the other films.

Crazy that this is already getting its 4th film, meanwhile Black Clover sure took its time just trying to release its first movie

I think that was from a quote that was taken out of context. Unless I am badly mistaken, I believe Kōhei Horikoshi meant that he wouldn't do another MHA movie because he wasn't sure how the 3rd one could top the climax of the 2nd film...and honestly? He was right. The third movie was middling at best and could no way even compare to the finals of either the first or second movie. What are we even doing here?
Oh right. Making money.

Curious to know when this takes place considering Deku's outfit. It could potentially take place after S&S fight or even after Aoyama's reveal, which means this movie has potential for great stuff.

I was wondering if MHA was going to get more films in the future, I don't know if the previous films were huge hits, but the series still is so I guess we'll see more.
Speaking about the films, the first two MHA movies were the first works in the franchise that got dubbed into Neutral Spanish but they had a completely different cast than the one Funimation ultimately chose for the series, and many would say it was much better. MHA's Neutral Spanish dub remains perhaps the most controversial anime dub into Neutral Spanish that has been made in recent years. In fact, the dub for the third movie, which was made with the Funimation's cast, received very little publicity from them when it premiered in theaters and so far it is still not available to watch it online, not even in CR, unlike what happened with the Demon Slayer, Jujutsu Kaisen, Konosuba and The Quintessential Quintuplets movies. It's like they know how bad the dub is, but making a re-dub at this point would be very difficult.

it's also toho and shueisha wanting to making more movies so the author can't stop that even if he wanted.

I guess I shouldn't be surprised they're making another movie, I just hope it won't impact the production of the next season.
Also curious what kind of plot they'll go with considering the timeframe.

Time for the anime's quality to take a dive while they crank out a forgettable archaic 90's-style anime movie where nothing matters!
Again!

While the anime and movies are made by different sub studios at Bones and they have their own core staff, some staff overlap is still inevitable. Expect talents like Suzuki, Nakamura, Hayashi, Umakoshi and so on to focus on the movie. (better pay, more creative freedom, etc)

I do feel like people tend to somewhat exaggerate just how much the MHA movies affect the quality of the seasons, at times. Obviously, people like Suzuki and Nakamura will always be there to animate particularly big moments, but MHA's lows are more than just the movies and also relate to the tight schedule of delivering yearly 2-cour seasons, and the industry's usual problem of talent being dispersed over too many projects at once. For example, S1 had people like Hakuyu Go and Kazuhiro Miwa, yet they never did anything for the anime again. Or Kouki Fujimoto making some great cuts for S4, but not being presented in S5-6 because of JJK and CSM
Season 5 specially suffered during MVA because of CO-VD still playing a big impact, to the point where even other Bones projects from that year like Sk8, Vanitas and Godzilla suffered as well.

When it comes to commercial projects, always assume it's only the last one until the next one. There will always be more until it stops making money. After that, the producers will take a few years off and reboot/revive it.

It's not that crazy. Black Clover is one of my favorites, but MHA hit at exactly the right time and became way more popular internationally than Black Clover did. Especially since the production on the early seasons of MHA was leagues ahead of Black Clover's.

Fujimoto was on Super Crooks in many episodes too which didn't make him appear as well.
