Good lord, things in the last few episodes have been very happy, yet also with an ever increasing feeling of upcoming sadness. Everytime something good happens there is a slight moment that hints at sad time ahead.

Episode 8
I'm getting a case of Backstory Impatience with respect to Ganta. We're 8 episodes in and the guy is still pretty much a cypher. I think we need to know more about what makes him tick. His mother is... not there... presumably dead, but let's get a bit of clarity.

Episode 9
Wow, Isaki's sister seems like quite the cow. However, her tagging along with Isaki and Ganta on their flirty time... er, I mean... "training camp" should at least elicit some drama which I'm all for. As I've said before, this SoL show sometimes gets dangerously close to the borderline of being too SoL even for me...

Episode 10
For those of you who, like me, are reluctantly collecting Isaki death flags there were a few this time. I've read that falling sakura blossoms can be a reference to death and of course Ganta had a vision of Isaki amid falling sakura blossoms when about to take her picture. Then there was the look of surprise on Isaki's sister's face when Ganta referred to her heart problems as something that was in the past. There are two ways to interpret that look of surprise: 1) she's surprised that Isaki confided that to him or 2) she's surprised he's using the past tense, which tells her that Isaki isn't being completely forthright.
We now understand why the sister is such a cow. Two things: growing up, she resented the extra attention and consideration that Isaki got due to her condition, but even more importantly she sussed out that Isaki didn't like the special treatment and vowed to be the one person in her life who would not inflict well-intentioned pity on her. She treats her just like she would if she had no heart issue at all.
My assumption is that the sister is not going off to meet her boyfriend (although it wouldn't shock me if the little tramp was doing exactly that). I think she's taken Ganta's measure, realizes he's good for Isaki and is leaving them alone for their special little flirty time.

Although 2 is quite possible, I personally think (and hope) that 1 is the actual reason.

Ummm... Here's the Chekov list of Death Flags, read at your own displeasure.
1. Grandma's House is very well established to be in the middle of nowhere.
2. Isaki is stuck there alone with Ganta because...
3. Her sister scampered off with their only way of reaching help, the only transportation out of town.
4. MEANWHILE.... there's more?! .... meanwhile Ganta has been trying to master a long exposure film technique that will keep him occupied throughout the night.
5. A camera technique that was used vividly in the anime Moonphase, where Hazuki was able to sit motionless for hours because she's a vampire...
6. We're just not stopping yet?... a motionless form that Isaki's been copying quite well when we've seen her sleeping in the past few episodes.
7.
8.
I'm leaving the last two blank. The set up is way too horrifying so use your imagination, your result is probably more flirty and less "Hey, you're sleeping like the dead but I'm not going to touch you because it'll ruin my perfectly composed image."
Oops. It was at this point that I realized it means Ganta took a picture of Isaki's death, not just her dead body but a composited time elapse photo of her alive, the very moment of her death and then her dead body. Yikes.
I'm hoping that what will happen will be somewhere between the ultimate expressions of death and life... don't make me spell THAT one out, sadly it's even more unlikely though.
[EDIT: Spoiler tags added, just in case. -TK]

Episode 13 (finale)
*yawn* I am going to be honest, I kind of lost a lot of interest when it started to feel more like a more pedestrian romance. Maybe it tried to spice itself up a bit, but with what I am familiar with there wasn't much in the end to feel it interested me. Somewhere where it stopped being about trying to sneak away for a nap it kind of lost me. For me personally I think that the more it went on, the more it kind of felt like it highlighted why these two teenagers not get some more medical help for their insomnia, or have the school understand that they are finding it impossible to sleep at night.
My rating will be So-so (5/10), it didn't really grab my attention, so I probably would not have watched it if I knew.
