(cons only count if the person you met is someone you know but didn't know about their anime love.)
My friend found out that our student teacher might like anime and that his roommate has the cowboy beebop dvds.
Another kid i foundout was into anime when i overheard him in the hallway talking about Inuyasha and Kikyo. i was like...WoW!!

I found out a bunch of jocks at my school were anime fans. Granted, they were fans of SAK, LH, and Mahoro, but I managed to intoduce them to some vampire and mecha. (Hellsing, VHD; Gundam Wing, FMP)

In my school I just found a few kids who were into anime. I was pretty friendly with them to start, but now we hang out a lot more. Someone in my school that I know also wrote an article recently in the school paper about Hayao MIyazaki/Spirited Away; I had no idea he was into anime. I just found out that my dad is also a huge Speed Racer fan.

Recently at school, I passed a girl who was wearing the same Inuyasha shirt I had bought at Otakon. There's also a random kid who always wears Gundam shirts. Up until recently, there were never any anime fans in my school, but I seem to be meeting more and more lately.

*sigh* If only there were some...the only ones I know exist outside of my cousins and Chloie are either pathetic Yu-Gi-Oh obsessed kids that treat it like Pokemon, or just casual watchers who will see stuff on TV and that's it. Although I am trying to get my LOTR-obsessed friend to watch Record of Lodoss War. Other anime fans just don't exist. I did manage to get two of my friends to like it, but then they moved to Wisconsin. I'm so lonely...

I forgot to mention that earlier today in English class we had to do prop speeches where we brought stuff in and gave a speech on it. One of the cooler kids in my school brought in (to my great surprise) Gundam models. This was seriously the last person that I expected to see have anything to do with anime.

My mom accidently saw some hentai one time, and I thought that was the end of it, but then I discover she bought the whole dvd set of cool devices, as well as other hentai. That there was a shocker for me. She calls herself an anime fan now.
wolf's mom when some friends come over: "Oh! Have you guys seen some of those japanese cartoons? They have porn ones, and they are the funniest things ever!"
>.> Maybe I should burn her stuff for the good of anime.

I swear to god and on the holy bible and everything that I hold dear to my heart, my mom watches cool devices, the maiden series, kama sutra, and a number of other titles I know she has which includes that fan made cowboy bebop hentai. *cowboy bebop is her faveorite un-hentai anime*
EDIT: Oh yeah, btw, how the accident happened. I like to download a lot of anime music videos, and one day I downloaded an Evangelion one to NIN's Closer. >.> That one turned out to be an AMV to the fanmade Eva hentai. I didn't delete it off my computer right away, she found it, watched it, and well, you know the rest of the story.

I found out about a year ago my aunt was a big anime fan when I was at her house looking through her dvds and I was amazed at how much anime she owned and I never noticed either. She easily has double of what I own.

Men, I had this crazy thing happening to me about 1 hear ago when I was working in a Hotel as Chef. MY Boss who was in his late 40's was hardcore anime fan. He's that kind of person (serious type) that you could NEVER know he's into anime. How I found out? I was talking to this dude about "Ninja Scroll" and my boss was like " its pretty good" and I'm "WTF" lol . Then I found out he was married to Japanese woman and it all made sense. He was so much into Miyazaki films .
When I asked him what his wife likes to watch he replyed
" American Animation ".

I was at a weekly on-campus Bible study that I go too, and a new freshman started coming. We were going around the table introducing ourselves and telling a few things about ourselves. Well, when I got to myself, I didn't mention my anime obsession because most the regulars already knew and I didn't figure the new people would care. However, the new girl said in her introduction that she watched anime. I immediatley jumped form my seat and was like "yeah, right on!" It was pretty funny at the time, though I did get a few cracks about always being able to tell an anime person by the way they talk. Oh well

I don't understand why people would hide their anime addiction. You like cars, so you wear shirt with cars. You like anime, wear shirt with anime! As for my experience...
I was eating lunch with my friends when a group of kids passed by and they're all holding MANGA! I didn't know them, but if I do I would run over and ask to borrow some mangas. ^^
For Christmas, my friend gave me Cowboy Bebob manga #1. I was reading it when my History teacher came by and ask "What are you reading? ...anime?" I was in awe that he knows about anime, so I didn't correct him that it's actually call manga.
