Can't figure out to this day why japan and other asian countries are so obsessed with making cringy stage plays for every manga/anime franchise out there.
and even more is how does anyone enjoys watching that absolute cringe of a format.

I'm curious how they'll pull off the Chainsaw Man suit.

I'm awaiting the inevitable petition to redo the stage play adaption of Chainsaw Man due to the director not understanding the source material. Rolling Eyes

These are always weird affairs, but now I’m imagining this as a big budget Broadway affair. It’d be the most outrageous stage play since Titus Androncinus.

Stage plays are pretty fun, depending on the series.

I don't mind it. It's an optional thing.

Then just...ignore them? I don't know why you're acting so angry as if these plays just existing is terrible, even more so at the idea that there are people who do enjoy them.

As opposed to America's obsession with live-action adaptions or preschool spinoffs like those Spider-Man Babies and Looney Tunes Babies shows I see on Cartoon Network and Disney?

The real irony is these stage plays are a lot more faithful to the source material than the inevitable live-action adaption out of Hollywood will be. I guarantee the One Piece stage play costumes will be better than whatever Netflx has planned to make the characters more 'realistic' and 'live-action friendly'.

It probably will be. My Hero Academia: The Ultra Stage, Hyper Projection Engeki Haikyu!!, and Live Spectacle: Naruto were all really high budget projects and some of the best-looking anime stage plays I've seen. Given that Chainsaw Man is a Shonen Jump series, I expect that there's going to be a lot of great effects for this one.

Yikes. The rudeness in this thread. The hate for stage plays is really unnecessary and they can easily be ignored.

Anyways. The director is also the director of Mankai Stage and Banana Fish so I def expect high quality! I don't really know much about Chainsaw Man because it doesn't look like my kind of series, but I look forward to the cast announcements!

...is it really necessary to trash any of these? Spider-Man had an adaptation in Japan which was completely different from the original story. Baby Looney Tunes was actually a cute series (and if you're an adult then I dunno why the need to complain about shows for kids).

Can everyone just enjoy things without the need for others having to poop on it because it's "different".

I know people are just freaking out because it's "Chainsaw Man," but there really is no need. Stage plays can be so creative and fun. It's okay to not be interested, but anything more than that is, I dunno...snobby?
