Japanese version it is for me, then. I have no faith in a good localization (not talking about not porting possible, future collaborations, because that's more of a licensing issue).
The choice of Amazon as a publisher seems odd, but there's AWS for servers I guess...also, since I'm a cynic, I feel Bandai Namco doesn't want to associate directly to the game in the West.

This is horrible news and I was looking forward to this one. Like what the hell does approachable to western players mean? Censorship? Awful cringy translations to remove any evidence the game was made in Japan? And then worst of all its Amazon....

Not really. Unless the plans have changed (but it doesn't seem like that) it's more of "traditional" F2P MMO without gacha.
