Seems like it could be a cute story! Like a reverse of Banished from the Hero's Party where it's the Demon Lord's top warrior who gets kicked out and then lives a slow, casual, life and romance.

The Heroine is giving Rit a run for her money in the bust department even if she's seemingly not a warrior.

That is a super generic promotional poster, even by isekai standards. Could be good though; the relaxing life ones are great.

The Heroine is giving Rit a run for her money in the bust department even if she's seemingly not a warrior.

The hilarious thing is that Rit's original character design in the source material had a more modest costume and body proportions, making her only slightly different from the other adult females Theodora and Yarandrala (with Ruti and Tisse representing the token little sister and loli market demos). It was the anime committee that gave her a bigger bust and a tighter, lower cut outfit to grab viewers unfamiliar with the light novels based solely on their glancing at the promotional materials. Seems to have worked and the source material creators - who weren't thrilled with the changes but also weren't that bothered by them either - acknowledged such. Even funner because it is the opposite of what usually happens, where the outfits and body proportions in the source material are often toned down in the anime adaptations to make them suitable for network TV broadcasts.

As for the narrative being reversed ... maybe not so much. Similar to I'm Quitting Heroing, the story in Banished From The Hero's Party later reveals that spoiler[the "bad guys" aren't exactly bad and the "good guys" aren't that great, or rather the system that they are fighting them to uphold doesn't allow them to be. It even puts the great individual acts of heroism and sacrifice by heroes like Theodora and the grotesque crimes of the likes of Shisandan in context, as the "bad guys" know a lot more about what is actually going on and why than the "good guys" do. This information validates the otherwise highly morally questionable decisions of Red, Rit, Ruti and Tisse to - for varying reasons - leave the fight against the Demon Lord and his armies to others and turns Theodora and even Ares into tragic figures]. Of course the anime will need second and even third cours to get to all this. If it gets them, Rit's fanservicey makeover - as well as mostly withholding Yarandala, who was supposed to be a far more prominent character, for a "if this gets renewed then this beautiful elf girl will be a major character!" tease - will be huge reasons why.

Would be neat, maybe worth a couple of chuckles, if they actually actually did this but based on the rest of the trailer it looks like this woman is the furthest thing from his preoccupied mind. It really does appear to be just an awkwardly animated scene from an anime project whose production was so starved for time and budget that it makes season 2 of "I'm Standing On A Million Lives" look like the early seasons of Bakemonogatari. Looking at the entities involved - Encourage Films has a tiny and uninspired catalog and the director, co-director, character designer etc. aren't exactly genre heavy hitters - doesn't inspire confidence either.

For all the trashing that isekai - and its assembly line fast food style adaptations - somewhat deservedly gets, it really does seem that the non-isekai straight fantasy shows get the short end of the stick even though they have the most potential to be actually good, or at least original. This is a great example as the protagonist is an adult - 30s is considered to be ancient even in seinen anime, as "world weary" Spike Spiegel in Cowboy Bebop was 27!" - instead of a teenager, and this doesn't seem to be a revenge power fantasy to appease junior high otaku boys convinced that the world is treating them unfairly. But instead of even the B-teams at Wit, Mappa, Bones, Pierrot or even Madhouse working on this we get ... above. Ah well. Still going to check it out, but am wishing that it would have at least gotten the Kadokawa isekai adaptation treatment, which at least maintain minimum standards due to their reusing as much as possible across productions. Take Marvel movies. While "every MCU movie looks the same" obviously isn't ideal, stuff that looks outright bad like the 2015 Fantastic Four and 2020's The New Mutants are way worse. That clip above makes it look like the latter.

The manga is quite fun, the baddies aren't that bad, nor are the goodies that good...

The mc isn't actually the strongest in this series. But I bet you can't guess who is. Wink

People nowerdays tend to call any JP fantasy isekai because if MC is not reincarnated it tends to have your typical JRPG-inspired setting.

It is totally wrong but I could understand tham somehow. "Classic fantasy" animes are pretty rare.

The nonsensical shiny spot makes it look like Rit has a big honking pimple on her tit.

Wrong series, wrong heroine. Laughing That's Marika!

I guess you read the above comments and thought we were talking about another certain series?

Nah, more that I was in such a rush to make the joke I didn't pay attention and got my jaded former adventurer's big titty wives mixed up

Ares may have suffered later in the series, but that doesn't make such an evil person a tragic figure. You dance with the devil, you are going to get burned.
