It's too bad things ended the way they did, but it is good to know that there is no animosity among the talents. It would have been even harder if that had been the case. We'll probably never know the precise details since that would likely involve divulging company secrets, but the most recent statements suggest to me that they've reached a point where they agree to disagree on a few points. Rushia says it was one leak. Cover says it was more than that. They approved the release of her statement after reviewing it, and also confirmed that they will not revise anything. Overall, that won't change anything employment-wise, but maybe people will move on if the involved parties have reached a state of acceptance.

Of course, ANN decides to cover this in great detail out of all things.
0 articles on Hyakumantenbara Salome, her eccentric debut and record setting growth. 0 articles on ANYCOLOR going public. 0 articles on Nekota Tsuna's debut. 0 articles on VSPO, the third largest vtuber company in Japan. |

So, you might have noticed, this website is called ANN not VTNN. The Rushia news WAS the most massive news at the start of the year reaching beyond Vtuber spheres and this is a follow-up on the previous reporting. I had heard about it from a couple other sources already before seeing it here. While literally everything you mentioned I have heard nothing about from those other broad sources, so I have to assume they're all much more insular vtuber news. Which I'd argue is largely outside the purview of an anime focused website. |

Neither are like a number of the Hololive articles posted here by that same logic. animenewsnetwork.com/interest/2022-04-11/hololive-virtual-youtuber-amane-kanata-announces-return-from-hiatus-with-adorable-illustration/.184506 animenewsnetwork.com/interest/2022-04-27/hololive-vtubers-pose-for-upcoming-doctor-strange-film-poster/.185049 animenewsnetwork.com/interest/2022-05-16/hololive-virtual-youtuber-usada-pekora-goes-on-hiatus-due-to-vocal-cord-issues/.185686 animenewsnetwork.com/interest/2022-06-18/hololive-gawr-gura-celebrates-record-breaking-4-million-subscribers/.186750 |

I believe the point was that this website does not focus in Vtuber news. Hololive receives attention because of how large it is and how many clicks it will get in comparison to other companies involved with Vtubers. So articles will be made for them unlike the rest. |

I know, and hence my pointing out of that bias, it's quite simple. |

So many Vtubers debut every week that I don't think it's worth reporting on every single one. Also, ANN reports stuff when other articles have been published, i.e. statements or a Japanese news site reporting on something. Unless all of these have had reports or important statements on twitter/website etc, they wouldn't bother reporting on them. I don't know much about Vtubers but out of your list about the only one worth reporting on is Salome. Possibly ANYCOLOR but I don't know what "going public" means. As an aside, if you think there is something ANN should absolutely be reporting, there's the option to send ANN tips on articles for them to write. |

Clearly not even what I said. Was I implying that every single Vtuber that debuts every single week needs reporting?
Yes. You may find press statements for ANYCOLOR's IPO on multiple platforms.
Salome's character and 1 million subs in 2 weeks is obviously noteworthy without question, but Nekota Tsuna is significant considering I didn't even know anything about her or VSPO prior. 1mil views on debut stream and 200k subs in 3 days for a Vtuber that is not associated with Hololive or Nijisanji is a good time to pay attention to VSPO, given that they are the 3rd largest Japanese agency.

The issue is we are not here for vtubers hololive is notable for being in anime and things linked to anime. An IPO is not something ann is likely to cover because there is not much to say if it was an anime studio or publisher maybe but...

Pretty sure this applies, and there are examples of that, for vtubers in general, Hololive or not. Again, I specifically did not mention the articles that were tangibly, so-called anime related in my list of examples.
You can bet if it was Cover Corp instead ANN would cover it. |

Most of those things don't really seem relevant outside of the Vtuber fanbase. Rushia has become a big enough name even outside of Vtuber fans that her news is relevant. I don't follow Vtuber and I know her, yet I dunno any of the stuff you talked about, for example. |

If you followed the entire discussion thus far, the point is as a result of Hololive's popularity there's a reporting bias which can be seen in 2 ways: Every move Hololive makes that is tangibly relevant to anime is reported with an article, while others don't get the same treatment. Even if it's irrelevant to anime, there are articles for insignificant Hololive news, while much more significant vtuber news is ignored, in which I've provided examples of both cases. |

What is your endgame here, exactly? You want ANN to cover more news outside the site's scope? |
