They should really not make a live version of one piece, nothing good ever comes when making a live version of a popular anime series

I see they're going with the "make it realistic to appeal to the common audience" thing that's never, ever worked for any adaptation of an animated thing before.

Whatever. I'm not going to watch it unless I hear surprisingly kind reviews. That method worked for me with the Netflix Bebop.

Well, they got further than a lot of people predicted. When the series was first announced in 2017 many expected it to just silently disappear like the announced adaptation of Sword Art Online or the Robotech movie.

I want this to be good, I really do (because if this series is successful it will make One Piece a household name in the US in a way the anime failed to do due to its unfortunate circumstances surrounding its initial release) but after Bebop saying my expectations are low is probably the nicest way to put it.

I wish them the best but expect the worst.

I mean, there's going to have to be heavy CGI with Luffy AT A MINIMUM and then either heavy CG or (hopefully) prosthetics for some of the character designs. (I'm thinking about fishmen, not about Usop's nose.) The devil fruit powers are Inherently reality-bending (pun 100% intended) so I really think a lot of the show will rise or fall according to how well they can pull those off.

I just hope that they'll end up getting far enough that I can see what CGI abomination Chopper will be

Or at least choose properties that makes sense to adapt into live-action. One Piece is pretty much towards the bottom of the list for so many reasons.

No need to hope. I can pretty much guarantee that's going to happen .

No one except Marvel Studios could have the devotion and love for an outlandish work of fantasy required to make a live-action One Piece work.

Some people's just doesn't learn.

Dragonball Evolution
Cowboy Bebop
Koukaku Kidoutai
Gunnm (for those who doesn't know this title. Alita, Battle Angel.)
Death Note

And so I can keep naming all the Live Actions that ruined the Titles.
Some people just need to learn either read or watch the Anime.
WE DON'T NEED LIVE ACTIONS!

Considering how cheap their Bebop series looked,I can't imagine how embarrassing this is gonna look. Especially something like One Piece which is one of the worse choices you could possibly do for a live-action anime adaptation.

The anime/manga which is set in Europe and America, has foreign characters and the setting had a western influence were makes sense to be adapted into a live action as long as the director and staff understand the story material and made it like passion project.like Emma Victorian Romance, Carole & Tuesday, Vinland Saga, Violet Evergarden, LOGH, Banana fish came up in my mind.
