This is an odd series, and I really don't know why I'm watching it. Eve is about the only character I really like, in both style and voice, and they have the best personality of them all. I'm also amused that grrrr-mad Saga is voiced by the same seiyuu as IDOLiSH7's sweet, over-enunciating Nagi. That's some range right there.
Lol this week (ep 6) when one character is recording his bandmate singing so they can upload a promo video, and every time they show him with his phone, he's bopping along with the song. Which means the video he's shooting would be unwatchable with the constant up and down movement of the camera. The song battle that capped it was visually interesting, but I couldn't help wonder what the audience was actually seeing or what they thought was going on. I guess they liked it, whatever it was. |

Episode 12 (finale)
Last episode, and kind of my least liked parts of the episode would probably be the different musical performances, as it can take a lot to get me really interested in them. Still not sure what to think of the romantic subtext between Ange and Guil, even getting an I love you, after there was a bit kind of saying that Guil is kind of like a parent. Kind of like how Robin was occasionally a bit too much of a brocon. A+ moment though, seeing the guy in the buff, looking over the city with his probably boyfriend. Talking about the series in general, like Gina I thought that Eve was a pretty cool character, I am even currently using an avatar of them. For me it was kind of how Eve was coded quite androgynously, both in their clothing and their demeanour, starting out as a bit of a dorm mother character. I have read up on a bit of a controversial topic on the idea that Eve could be read as non-binary, as I understand that despite how they might be coded, Japan can be a bit funny on this sort of topic, I think there also being something in the series that says only guys can be vampires or something. But also, Eve literally has a second personality in getting possessed by a female vampire queen, that the series is firmer in referring to as a woman. It together kind of showed anyway that the androgyny is a key part. Eve is also joined in this androgyny by Elizabeth. Quick aside that Guil kept making me think of Cloud, and wasn't too bard to look at. Also, the queen episode was probably the best episode, being a lot of fun. I was half expecting the mayonaise thing being just a joke that the queen made up after she had enough fun, just to sort of troll them. My rating for the series will be Decent (6/10), nothing amazing, really a lot of the time I was actually zoning out a bit, but it had some parts I found more interesting. Also, I am a fan of vampire stuff, and in those regard I don't think was too bad. |
