Such an amazing Shounen series. I'm gonna miss it when its over. Might have to give it a reread from Chapter 1. A lot of people know that manga Battle Shounen mangaka tend to be allergic to anything that has to do with romantic progression, but Twin Star proves that it can be done and not distract at all from the rest of the story. Its really a shame not enough people read this cause of its lack luster (and mostly anime original) anime adaptation. DAMN YOU PIERROT!!!

Well granted I wouldn't say this manga is that much of an achievement in a romantic couple MC considering the main couple spent a large portion, even most of the manga separate from each other plus the female protagonist is treated as just a secondary to the main guy.

I would say that they only been apart for a couple months after Benio lose her powers but the time that they spend together is great and you see their growth as a couple to the point that you don't want to see them apart. They both have their own separate arcs but they always keep each other in mind and literally motivate them like when Rokuro want to build their house so when Benio come back to a nice place and the fact he developed a Shikigami of Benio favorite food and favorite hero Ohagi man or how Benio overcame her problem by thinking about Rokuro which overcome her fear

To be honest, I don't think I can blame Pierrot for the anime adaptation turning out the way it did. I think this was Shueisha's fault for asking for an anime adaptation of a monthly manga series to be 50 episodes non-stop. I think they should have followed what Seraph of the End did the previous year by doing 24 split-cour episodes.

This is one of those weird series that is actually great but doesn't seem to be particularly popular.
Honestly, I'm pretty surprised it stayed this long.

Or like what a lot of Shonen adaptions are doing these days and just doing multiple 2-cour seasons.

It honestly did have potential to be that. Two relatively strong characters that got stronger when fighting together. Strength and speed being their defining traits was good too. But yeah, it really struggled to make good use of the female protagonist. She straight up vanishes from the story for a long time. And when she is around...she's still not nearly as important.
Characters are still likable as a whole. That the story doesn't make the most of Benio is a shame. But it is still pretty good overall and I'll be looking forward to seeing how it eventually wraps up.
