When I see young kids on social media clamoring for and supporting communism, and they are gay, trans, etc, etc, they have no idea what they are actually in for - This is the real reality of communism at work here. They are literally denying you of your right to be an individual of your own identity.

You are wrong, this is red meat for the masses. The CCP is terrified of the masses doing something about the exploitation of the proletariat and the environmental degradation. This, like all social issues everywhere, is just window dressing to show the masses you are with them. What all governments fear (well, maybe not Switzerland since they are pretty close to a democracy), and communist governments more so, is that the people will question why they live like they do and the "favored ones" do not.

Hate to nitpick but democracy is a term for any government by which the people decide on policy, be it through a direct democracy (partially in the case of Switzerland or California) or a representative democracy (Germany, Japan, USA, etc.).

Well, if we are having fun nitpicking, democracy is the rule of the people (demos), the rule of the people's representatives is a republic (res publica). The term representative democracy is a relatively new term (not even used during the French revolutionary era) to separate classical republics from dictatorships (which maintained the "republic" name, e.g. USSR, DPRK, PRC, PRK, etc.) and bring in constitutional monarchies, which were not classical republics (since they have a monarch), but were ruled by the people's representatives.

I see your point, but at the same time I don't for a second believe that most Chinese citizens are the least bit concerned about something as vague as "effeminate men," at least not the younger generations. As much as the powers that be may try to crack down for it, you know as well as I do that K-pop is huge there, and none of those singers are being mistaken for lumberjacks.

No, this is reactionary at work. This happens in capitalism too, look at gay rights in US history. Look up, Stonewall riots
By the way, China is state communism. I think the kids want pure communism, the one that the people own the means of production and a stateless moneyless society. There are a lot of different variants of communism.
I personally think communism is a pipe dream and that we should focus on Social democracy right now to reduce the damage of late-stage capitalism. After that, we can think of communism

Sorry to break this to you but state-sponsored homophobia is a thing all over the world. Within living memory it was legal to imprison Americans for being gay, and "queer panic" defenses which make it effectively legal to murder trans people are still legal in 35 of 50 states. Bigotry like this does not limit itself to communism or capitalism.
