Public voting for best compositing and storyboarding should not be a thing. As seen by the results people don't know what either aspect is. Even if you like the show Re Zero S2's boarding leaves a lot to be desired, especially when you compare the layouts to the first season.

"Reddit Anime Awards" are as worthless as the "Crunchyroll Anime Awards", if not even more...
The winners of Compositing (TV), Storyboarding (TV), and Animation (TV) are a joke.... but then again, who cares, it isn't like it means anything. |

I really need to sit down and finish Chihayafuru already, looking at the website it won the jury pick in Genre (Drama), Character (Best Main Character, Cast), Production (Script), and AOTY... And that's with different juries for each category, not one group choosing the winner for each.
Also Gal & Dino winning Sound Design is an inspired choice I would have never thought of on my own. |

Not really. Re:Zero is a lot better in most aspects. JJK's isn't particularly interesting. Anywho, I didn't even know this award was a thing. Missed it altogether. |

Someone on the judge panel really likes Pokemon.
At least they separate judges awards and the fan awards. More of these shows should do that. |

I'm very familiar with the /r/anime awards and have been involved as a juror (and in 2017 as an organizer) for years now. The OP and ED awards are not song-based. They consider both song and visuals, as well as their concept, harmony and narratives. It'd be better to change this article so that it reflects the process and intent of the category.
If anyone knows who/how to contact for this, please do inform me. |

The jury here works in an interesting way compared to a typical jury panel you'd see for most awards/festival-type of events - Each category has its own jury separate from the others, and deliberates within their own category only. While some individuals may overlap, no one was allowed to be in more than three categories unless there were vacancies due to someone dropping out, no matter how strong their application was. Some people are super into the technical side of production, while others just want to look at the narrative/characters, etc... So it was more like several people really liked Pokemon it seems haha Overall, Pokemon seemed to have a strong showing this year, with Journeys and Gotcha too... plus Twilight Wings is also all fully available and free officially on youtube. |

I liked Chihayafuru 3 well enough, but I would never have put it ahead of Somali, Eizouken, Golden Kamuy 3, or the second season of Major 2nd.
