Something that bothered me about the "core" series is how much it hyperfocused on the immune system.
The other mechanisms of the body were mostly ignored, and any organ besides blood vessels, the heart and that one time they showed the stomach (to showcase a cool and weird immune cell of course) might as well not have existed. Which made it interesting when S1 ended and S2 started with events where immune cells had no role (although blood was still as its core). So even though I was sceptic about an edgy take on this show, I was glad to see how quickly it showcased other parts and systems of the body that previously had been glossed over despite having a red blood cell as its sole protagonist and PoV. |

So, episodes 3 and 4 were released yesterday (I think; I only heard that it was there yesterday), and I can't find a reason why. Is there some news that was missed?

I think in the end when it comes to this series the devil will be in the details.
Considering that in the mother series the cells are pretty much unaware of the world outside the body, in this one everyone is knowledgeable about way too many things. But worse than that is that it seems to be ignoring way too many systems and specific cells about how the body and the defense mechanisms work, but that's mostly a stylistic choice. And they focus a lot on individual cells getting "beaten up", or "bleeding" which I guess they need for the drama and the dark atmosphere but acknowledging all that opens up another can of worms. However the latest episode shows worse deviations when it basically handwaves the "chain of command" of white cells, or everyone instantly knows and recognizes gonococcus, despite identifying and remembering it is the job of specific cells (which were shown already in the other show so they already have the uniform designs as shortcuts). At least T cells appeared... right at the end when everything was over. |

"Thank you for all your years of service." I guess that's in RBC years. So if the geezer was ~ 60, an RBC year would be about 2 days.

Not surprising, considering author Harada Shigemitsu does a lot of ecchi/seinen manga. Some of his works include : - Oretama/My Balls (demon queen is sealed in unlucky boy's testicles, demon queen's female minion has 30 days to make him ejaculate and free her boss) - Megami no Sprinter (MC seeks athletic training from his star athlete sister-in-law, who subjects him to tantric-style lust management to improve his skill and stamina. Also sister-in-law's a very sexually-hungry pervert using MC as a sex surrogate for her husband who is MC's older brother; and is implied to have left because he couldn't keep up with his wife's degeneracy) https://www.mangaupdates.com/authors.html?id=1553 |

Episode 3 was one of the strangest episodes of anime I've ever seen

I lost it in episode 3 when the sperm flew out and the imagery seemed to be referencing the stargate sequence from 2001: A Space Odyssey.

I was thinking they'd splat into the "invisible wall" of a condom. I was also wondering if they'd face the fact that there was only one ovum and millions of sperm. That could've been interesting if they had shown that even the "loser" sperm were necessary to contribute to the chosen one's success. |

The show is fun for sure, but it also gives me an almost Saikanoesque or Texhnolyzical feeling of watching people dealing with their fate in a doomed world -- living one day at a time and, because there is no alternative, dutifully performing tasks that are ultimately futile.

episode 3 is great for out of context quotes. Also its like episode 1 of school live where you want to have your friends just watch this episode.
About episode 4 , iirc it got censored compared to the manga, the white cells there were in various states of undress, which has some implications the anime did not want on his back, i guess |

Unless he already had Gonnorhea, how would the host be getting an STI from masturbation though?

Because it wasn't masturbation, U-1196 just pointed out that most times the "intercourse" isn't for the purpose of procreation but enjoyment... which seems to have been the case. And it seems that even though the weird boat-babies didn't end up in a tissue or blocked by a wall of latex, she was right: if he got gonorrhea, it most likely means that this wasn't his "usual" partner, someone he wants to have children with, but a one-night stand for the purpose of recreation (given the guy's lifestyle probably a prostitute but we won't know). And who uses viagra for a date with their right hand? ... I probably shouldn't have asked that |

What I really want to know is whether I really lose Red Blood Cells when I have to abort my attempts at orgasm (not because of ED, at least not yet, but because of insensitive family members).
