Nice. I actually have near all the ports of the original games on the Saturn, Dokyusei If (the port name of the original Dokyusei), Dokyusei 2, and Kakyusei. They're all really good visual novels; some of the better school-setting visual novels of the time, and the original Dokyusei in particular was a huge departure from circa visual novels.
I've always wondered why some of these older visual novels don't get more attention for modern remakes. At the time, most titles were very limited by their platforms being fairly static and with a low count color palette. All of those limitations are history. I also wonder how much this may have been spurred by the recent Elf title YU-NO seeing some modern love (another Elf title). I'd have to look as I can't remember the hierarchy of companies but I know that most Elf titles went to NEC Interchannel, which then was eventually bought out by GungHo. |

Ditto for an English release! An old-timer like me wants to see Misa "Beige" Tanaka again. I liked this and Doukyuusei 2 so much I scored a couple of cels of them. Never got a cel of Misa, though, hers was too expensive. That is certainly a bright spot in this dismal year. *crosses fingers*
Here's a taste of Doukyuusei (2, though) nostalgia, "Love Letter" by Noriyuki Iwadare: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yytqYN0S0VM |
