I wonder if PQube decided not to support Playstation because of their censorship policies?

But not PS4? That’s weird. And before anyone’s in with the whole “Sony censorship” angle, keep in mind that Gal*Guns 1 and 2 are currently available for PS4.

Both games have been released before the implementation of the new "censorship policy" by Sony interactive. So far it's never been imposed retroactively on previously released games. |

Oh sweet!
I was hoping this series would not die in the west. It's understandable they won't do a PS4 release since Sony doesn't want games like this on their system anymore, but I already switched to Switch for japanese games like RPGs, VNs and so on, so I'll happily continue to support the series on there. I played Gal Gun 1 to death, was a bit disappointed by the VR approach of the second game, but this looks like it's back to the roots with a major updated GG1! I wonder what they will do to that joke DLC item that lets you see through clothing for like 90 bucks xD It was available ingame too, but only towards the end of a playthrough and items reset for each new playthrough, so you could only ever use it for the last few levels without the DLC. I hope they change how ingame items work, like maybe let us keep the upgrades permanently but make them more expensive or something like that. Well, I hope this generates enough interest for a proper GG3 on a newer engine with more modern character models and free camera control. The models on newer games like Koikatsu look so nice - now that GG devs aren't developing for Vita anymore, they really don't need to hold back for performance anymore.
They aren't retroactively censoring or banning older games much. Gal Gun 1 and 2 were checked and approved when the less strict content policy for new releases was still in use. It only started around end of 2018/beginning of 2019 when multiple japanese developers faced more and more trouble getting through the content check for their new games and were asked to remove even minor nudity/fanservice. |

It's almost as if you don't know those games released before Sony's rule change in mid to late 2018 and didn't read Aizu's comment on the future of Gal Gun in June 2019: Can you talk a bit about the future of Inti Creates’ other titles like Mighty / Gal Gunvolt and Gal Gun? Aizu: “For Gal Gun, we have no intentions of ending the series, but as you may know things with some of the platform holders have changed recently. Right now the Gal Gun team is kind of putting their heads together and figuring out where we’re going to go from here now that changes have been made among some of the platform holders. They’re basically in the process of claiming their next move and figuring out what they want to do from here. Can you talk more about the Gal Gun situation? Aizu: “Well as you may know, Gal Gun 2 released on PlayStation 4, Switch, and Steam, so if we can still continue to do that, we would love that. But Sony’s standards for sexual content have gotten significantly stricter in recent days, so we have to see what possibilities lie ahead with that in place and what we can do with those new restrictions as we figure out a path forward.” https://www.gematsu.com/2019/06/gunvolt-chronicles-luminous-avenger-ix-interview-with-inti-creates-president-takuya-aizu-at-bitsummit-7-spirits |

So glad PQube is realising not to bother with these type of games on Sony's platform after the changes.
Thankfully Nintendo is embracing it and I'm all for it. |
