Do we know where this takes place in the Doremi timeline? Because all of them having their S1 outfits makes me curious

My deduction from the trailer and the info released thus far—which definitely could be intentionally misleading, so take this with a grain of salt—is that the film is set outside the timeline entirely, in the present-day "real world," and stars three women who grew up watching the TV show when they were kids. Finding the Magical Sphere makes them wonder if it was all true, and thus they go searching for more evidence.
Thus the girls are in their first-season outfits because the film is a meta-narrative and that's the way the three women think of them by default. Obviously the original voice actors are also part of the cast, but whether Doremi and the gang actually show up or appear only in flashback and imagination... well, we'll just have to wait for the film to see whether the search is successful. (Although my money is on "yes." Leonard Nimoy famously said of The Search for Spock that, if at the end, "Captain Kirk turned to the camera and said, 'Sorry, we didn't find him,' people would throw rocks at the screen.")

I don't think so. I found this little part here that describes some of the plot: "The film focuses on three adults, Sora Nagase, Mire Yoshigaki, and Reika Kawatani, who once witnessed a magical happening twenty years ago."
I think they are all different ages too in life. And from pieces of the trailer it seemed like they go to the Mahodo and it is empty. It sounds really sad actually, but I think it will be a great movie. I hope someone will translate it here.

I can honestly say that this was one of the VERY BEST FILMS I saw at the Scotland Love Anime international film festival in Edinburgh October 2021. It was the UK premier I believe and it took us all in the cinema by surprise as to just how much we got pulled into this real life set story, whether you’ve seen the series that is the focus topic in this movie or not.
In this story, Doremi really is just an older animated TV show and these characters are binned together by it in a way we can still connect with.
You relate to the three main characters so quickly whether this is like your own past or possible future and it feels like there really is that little bit of magic in the world (that really life magic) that binds us all together. It feels like you reeeally can learn from this movie in a way that is GENUINE and I now intend to eventually watch the series that inspired this movie in the first place, even if it was made for kids. As the three STARS of this beautiful film have shown us, it’s messages are still timeless for us.❤️
Highly recommended checking the movie out at least once in your life while it can be most relevant to you and help you going forward. You won’t regret it.
