This reminds me of what they did with the Witchblade dvd box set, interesting how it went from American style, to anime, then they Americanized the anime iteration. Or like when they did Marvel vs AoT.

Ah, that old Dirty Pair comic that ran for like 10 years. I remember those. Also those old video game boxarts where they'd turn the JRPG characters into He-Man and Thundercats look-a-likes like Breath of Fire II's American cover. Kinda nostalgic, not gonna lie. |

I don't know why but this artwork reminds me of that scene from the Simpsons when Homer imagined the kids as horrible freaks with pink skin, no over bites and five fingers on each hand...

I don't want to be a jerk. It's easy to just insult this box art and call it ugly, but there is a very strong chance the person who made this cover art is a huge Naruto fan and I'm going to believe this was a dream come true for him to be able to make something like this. I am also sure that there are plenty of comic book fans who will appreciate this as well, but I don't think it's a stretch to say that the overlap between fans of this author's work and fans of Naruto isn't more than half of the just fans of Naruto who would likely have preferred maybe new original cover art either from Studio Pierrot or Masashi Kishimoto himself. I am sure the author is talented but his artsyle does not fit Naruto. I am sure there are those who will like and appreciate this, but I just do not like this. Art is subjective and in my subjective opinion I think this looks ugly. I do not like this and I do not find this appropriate box art for the first ever Blu-ray release of collection of the original classic Naruto stories. I hope the author continues to provide good work, and I am glad for anybody who enjoys this art and the movies. I just personally do not.

As awful as the Sailor Moon R movie cover art was, at least it was done in the art style of the anime.
