Mononoke is hands down one of the best shows I've ever seen. I'm glad to see it's still getting love years later.

Yeah, I'd probably pick Mononoke as the best Noitamina show, period.

Especially liked the Bakeneko arc.
It would however be my second pick for that group. My choices would be:
2005-2009 - Nodame Cantabile
2010-2014 - Usagi Drop just pipping House of Five Leaves
2015-2019 - ERASED

Mononoke was a great show. Psycho-Pass and Banana Fish were also great.

Mononoke is one of the few Noitamina shows I haven't seen, so I guess I better remedy that.
On the other had, Psycho Pass is the one Noitamina show I've seen that I wasn't able to get into, so my tastes probably don't align with the popular opinion very well.

If you haven't seen Mononoke, I suggest you first track down its precedessor, the "Bake Neko" arc that concludes the anthology Ayakashi Samurai Horror Tales. I still think it's the best of the "medicine-seller" stories.
I'd put Nodame behind Mononoke for the early period and endorse Errinundra's picks for the later periods.

Mononoke is a really good choice for 2005~2009. For 2010~2014 I feel like there are so many choices though, that you'd have to actually try to get something bad out of it - Tatami Galaxy, Usagi Drop, Psycho-Pass, Katanagatari, Ping Pong, Your Lie in April. Just so much. 2015~2019 I've watched very little of and there's a lot of shows I've seen get talked about as good quite a bit, but for me I guess it'd have to be Wotakoi, though it's not as strong as any of the other anime in the rest of this post.

Mononoke is one of those shows I've always been meaning to watch but never got around to seeing. I had some issues with Banana Fish but I still enjoyed it as a whole and I'm glad to see it get recognition.
