-Smash: Yeah, figured it was going to happen considering there have been zero Nintendo reps for the DLC and Three Houses is doing extremely well (heck, they even revealed the final DLC for Three Houses the same day). We got another six slots, so expect someone in there to be freaking wacky.

-FFVII: Let's be real here, this is NOT going to be the last time this happens with the Remake. Square's history of delays due to lack of discipline is proof enough of that.

-E3: This says more about E3 than anything. And of course there's the ongoing drama with ESA. The event's been slowing for the past decade at least, but I think what really accelerated it was Nintendo doing Directs and the Treehouse Live

"Don't convince yourself your favorite character is next in line for Smash, folks, it'll just lead to crushing disappointment."

I didn't even do that. Most of the characters that were expected are characters I don't care about. I just didn't want ANOTHER Fire Emblem character. And I say that as a Fire Emblem fan as someone who has never touched a Devil May Cry or Doom game. (To mention a few)

People should stop jumping to the "you are just mad that your most wanted didn't get in." Conclusion.

Was a bit too late with NISA announcement today, but it would be so nice if you were to talk about the complete change of Ys VIII PC port!

Is it because of lack of discipline or because of the fact that shit happens plus it's only been delayed by a few days and not like a few months like their other stuff.

Now now let's not give Nintendo too much credit since their E3 press conferences were getting pretty sub-par post 2003 or 04.

Only if Smash fans stop getting mad that whoever they wanted or were expecting to get in didn't get in.

Hopely the next 6 are NOT a lot of dudes. Smash Bros is a sausage fest to start and the first pack of DLC included 4.5 new men and 0.5 a new female character. Hopefully the next six will bring more ladies to the Brawl. Midna. Chun Li. Tifa. Panther. Quiet.

Yeah, more women would be good, like maybe putting in Urbosa, the Astral Chain protagonist, Tsubasa Oribe, etc

What Square should do is hold its developers hostage and snap a bullwhip over their heads forcing them to work 24/7 until it's finished. Sure, a few of them might have a psychological breakdown...or die...but I really need my toy now and there's nothing more important than that.

- Smash: yeah Byleth was not the best character to end the first fighter pass. Up until now all the character choices have been pretty diverse, but FE is one of Nintendo's biggest franchises and they obviusly were going to promote the latest and critically aclaimed installment. But with Byleth out of the way we can expect more interesting choices, although fans are still going to find things to complain about even if a fan favourite gets in. It would be awful for them if Byleth ends up being a high tier character though. At least the Rabbid costume gives me hope that Rayman could be included.
- FFVIIR delay: I honestly believed Square was going to deliver the game on time but I can see they want to make the best impression for the first part. Luckily for them Cyberpunk 2077 got delayed too, so they have less competition.
-Sony skipping E3: I cannot blame Sony for doing this. E3 has really been falling since the last 5 years or so, it isn't as interesting as it used to be, and it's probably a nightmare to have a lineup of anouncements ready for the show. I only watch the Nintendo Direct and read the rest of the news online, and every year the most surprising news get leaked.

Technically 1. Half for Kazooie, Half for FemByleth

But I'm pretty certain all those characters (sans Midna) fall under the "Smash is for good boys and girls" problem. The only female characters I can think of that aren't too sexy would be Dixie Kong, Alis from Phantasy Star, Ayumi from Famicom Detective if they really want to go obscure, Toadette, maybe Aya Brea in normal clothes. If they put in Bomberman they can also use the skins from Super Bomberman R as alts which have a couple girl skins.

Yeah, that whole quote is ridiculous anyway. Zero Suit Samus has two costumes that are more revealing than Mai's and both she and Bay are fairly voluptuous. And speaking of Bay, she wears a skin tight suit of her own hair and strips down to almost nothing for special attacks in her own games. So she is a good girl how?

Sexuality aside, how is Wario even remotely 'good'? He is greedy, crude, and literally foul.

I honestly wasn't expecting too much for the Smash DLC reveal, even though I did hope Sora would get in, but I was disappointed that the final DLC character in this Fighter Pack is another FE character. In a way, I think people are extra upset because he was the last character to be revealed - if Byleth was revealed maybe a bit sooner, there wouldn't be quite as much "anger" about it.

Despite this, I am still going to pre-order Fighter Pack 2 because I still liked the others that were revealed in the first pack ( yaaaay Banjo!!), and I'm pretty sure it will be the same for the second set of characters.
...But please, no more FE characters, Nintendo.

Not gonna lie that a small part of me is still bummed that we didn't get Krystal from Star Fox as a fighter, but as an Assist Trophy. But yeah, we do need more female characters in Smash.

I personally don't mind more Fire Emblem representation unless they're a Marth Clone (Roy, Lucina, Chrom, Ike is close enough even if he's less clonish than the others) for the same reason I don't mind more Mario or Pokemon representation. I didn't mind Robin or Corrin and now Byleth because their play styles are unique in a way that still makes sense for Fire Emblem (Magic and durability gauge, Manakete-ish attacks, and multiweapon use respectively). I appreciate him/her more than Terry (who feels a little too much like Ryu and Ken IMO even if he's not a clone by any stretch). I understand the sentiment that he shouldn't have been the last DLC for Fighter Pass one, but a Three Houses rep was probably coming sooner or later and Byleth came sooner.

I think Fighter Pass 2 will be more 1st party oriented. A Pokemon rep is almost guaranteed because of Sword and Shield, Astral Chain might be neat (even if it wouldn't be the first duo fighter), and there are still about 10 Fire Emblem games without Smash representation. Jokes aside, as long as they are all as mechanically unique as the Fighter Pass 1 DLC fighters, I am curious as to what Sakurai has in store.

Hmm... how about Dead or Alive's Akane in her default ninja outfit from DoA3? Talim from Soul Caliber 2, Pai from Virtua Fighter, Ling from Tekken, and Ulala from Space Channel 5 aren't particularly buxom. Ulala even got a new outfit sporting less midriff. Final Fantasy's Terra, Garnet, and Lightning aren't super sexualized and Nintendo just released a bunch of FF ports on Switch, so I could see one of the many FF ladies getting chosen. Sakura from Sakura Taisen is just in a kimono, Amaterasu from Okami is a wolf, and Amy Rose from Sonic is a hedgehog. There are plenty of gals to choose from. Maybe something weird like the Ring Fit lady, too. *shrug* Just saying there's lots of options, so don't give up hope.

Well, that's the problem: delays usually CAUSE more crunch, they don't prevent it:
