I almost went to see it again tonight.

Brought a party of about 5 to see it, from my tutor who has no interest in anime but didn't mind seeing a Japanese film, to some rather nice Otaku types.

It was great but this statistic is very expected. This is WHY Fathom Events does these on Wednesday and Thursdays - theaters are generally really empty in the middle of the week. Most people only go to theaters during this time for limited airings like this.

Nice ad placement GKids Wink

Looking forward to see how much it'll make this weekend in the US.

Saw it subbed last night in theaters with my husband. Absolutely worth it! Animation was stunning, and a beautiful movie throughout. And when I heard Yuki Kaji's voice I nearly lost it (didn't realize he was voicing a character in this!). We even got a couple of nice small sized posters, which I wasn't expecting, and there was an interview with Shinkai after the credits rolled. Wonderful movie!

I'd see it again tonight (Thursday), except that I have to work late...bleh. I highly recommend that anyone who has the chance to see it, do it! You won't be disappointed!

After two days, it's already GKIDS's highest-grossing release ever. Anyone who had doubts about the film's box office chances has been proven wrong.

Shinkai talks in the post-credits feature about wanting to head in new directions, but I doubt he will. His current formula is too profitable.

"Having the audience connect with a newly formed romance amidst danger and tragedy, well that's instant box office gold!" - Red Letter Media https://youtu.be/uJarz7BYnHA?t=365

He needs to get someone else to do the screenplay and story composition.

I saw the subbed movie on Wednesday evening. It was pretty good.Loved lots of the animation work.Music and voice acting were great.
I did have a beef with part of the story but i will not go into it to avoid spoiling it.But it just a minor complaint.
