I watched one episode and I was out, but the near universal "meh" response to this show leads me to believe that not that many people will be excited by this news.

Good news. Other than the clunky CGI, it was a pretty fun series!
Hope the production values take a step up for the sequel!

Good news for me too, all my favorite arcs start after the 5th volume ( the 1 season adapted the first 4 ) , it's true that S1 could have been much better without all those production issues but it didn't stop me from enjoying the adaptation of one of my favorite isekai LN.

I'm legitimately surprised by this. Between the largely "meh" response to it, the limited production values, and the decision to jump in a fair way into the story on episode one, I got the impression that the production committee would have move on pretty fast. Not that I'm complaining, though.

I- wha- but- how? No- Why?
I've read the novel beyond the anime and what I saw of the anime was... really bad(production).
I'm genuinely amazed this got a 2nd season, I figured the anime wouldn't do better than "you like this? well read the manga/novel its better and didn't have anything cut(that we know of)".
Man people really enjoy these dark, gritty, self-insert, power fantasies.
I'm a tad bit concerned about the state of viewers in a broad sense.
Hopefully, it's just a phase.

This just feels like rewarding mediocrity or incompetence even.

Not 100% surprised since the source material in particular is extremely popular that it can even carry a S2 of a bad adaption.

Given the many angry people out there in the world which I take from the current political climate it doesn't seem all to surprising.

My thoughts exactly. Of all things, THIS is what gets a second season?

How was this even popular? Let's at least hope that the production value rises A LOT

Someone know if this series is popular in China? Do overall harem isekai are popular in China?

I'm pretty sure this is made in some dudes basement, so maybe the production costs are so low they greenlit it on cost factors alone, like most of the reality TV garbage in the us.

Show getting a S2 announced this fast very likely means it was planned to have a S2 from the beginning.
