I was not surprised it was a mobile game but I am still sad. I enjoyed the 3DS games, and was hoping it would be for Switch, but it seems to be another franchise going to mobile.
Koei Tecmo was recently teasing a new Monster Farm project with a new Twitter account made for it. A lot of fans were begging for it to be on Switch but I feel it will be a mobile game too

Consider the fact that the 3DS games sold terribly (especially the battle girls one) and the studio (only thing keeping the franchise alive) died almost three years ago. It's not unreasonable for them to try mobile to gauge/create interest before trying anything "big" again.

I loved the Medabots anime a lot as a kid and I hope this game would be successful enough to encourage them to make a new anime series.

That's intentional. This new robot is supposed to take design elements from both the KBT and KWG robot lines. I'm assuming that's a cute way of them acknowledging there won't be a split release for this game.
