I've recently become interested in the old giant robot animes (most of which seems to have been made by Go Nagai). The ones in particular I have been hunting for are Manzinger Z (Tranzor Z), Getter Robo, and Machine Robo: Revenge of Cronos. I can't find any DVD releases or anything of these older animes. Does anyone know if we could possibly see these animes resurface on DVD any time soon? I think some of it was english dubbed but I'd settle for subs at this point! Anime smallmouth + sweatdrop

I'm not sure that the market is really there to support these shows getting released on DVD (though I think there have been Machine Robo DVDs within the last five years, but it could have been just VHS). Probably the best hope would have been Media Blasters as they intend to release Go-Lion and Dairugger XV eventually, but with the unfortunate failure of GaoGaiGar the chances of them moving on to other classics is slimmer. Probably your best best chance are for a smaller company to pick them up and release them in cheap box sets the way other old cartoons are, but it seems like if someone was going to do that they would have done it by now.
