Not 2019, I hope! 4 months isn't nearly enough time to produce a film with that much CGI. Also, you might want to check the Japanese release date. All the news reports I've been watching on the afternoon news suggest Japan is getting the film first, on May 3rd. |

Will Toru Okawa reprise his role as Pikachu or is he going to be voiced by a celebrity too? I don't think the article mentions Pikachu's voice. I know Ikue Otani still voices Pikachu´s Pokémon voice.

Man, Pikachu's sass really doesn't come through in the subtitles at all.

I'm not sure if she would, because of the kind of character Detective Pikachu is. Also, I remember Iitoyo from Kyoryuger. Good for her! |

When other people hear DP, they still hear a normal Pikachu voice, which is done by Ohtani-san. |

If Toru Okawa doesn't reprise his voice, it would be interesting if they got Yasuyuki Kase (Japanese dub voice of Deadpool).

Early in the game, you run into another Pikachu, who is looking for his partner, with whom he's trying to "be the very best," but you don't actually run into the trainer. I'd guess we'd get something more along these lines in the movie, rather than a voice cameo. |
