As a day-1 Dragalia Lost player, I feel like this article is lacking a bit of context/accuracy.

Quote:
Dragalia Lost Game Maker

CyberAgent is the parent company of Cygames, the actual developer.

Quote:
Dragalia Lost had the latter system in mind until publisher Nintendo stepped in and asked the developer to take it down a notch.

Nothing noticeable from the players' perspective has been done to "take it down a notch," but there are plenty of less f2p friendly mobage out there anyway. Can't complain too much, by market standards.

Quote:
CyberAgent is quoting a 20% drop

This is also the same company who made a poor investment in a service called AbemaTV, and tried to use Dragalia Lost as a scapegoat a month ago to their investors.

Quote:
Nintendo asked the CyberAgent to "adjust" its micro-transactions in response to players' complaints.

Again, I have almost no idea of what this could be referring to. They did increase the number of "value packs" in the shop, but that's it. The price of 10 pulls is, and has been, approximately $30 since release. Value packs will bring the average cost of a 10 pull down to around $15, but those are either monthly/weekly bundles, or limited to X per account. For those wondering, the rates are 2% for a SSR/5 star (0.5% for an adventurer+0.5% for a dragon+1% for a wyrmprint).

Quote:
“Nintendo is not interested in making a large amount of revenue from a single smartphone game”
This is quite an entertaining quote, given how much money Fire Emblem Heroes (FEH) earns them. Admittedly, FEH appears to be stagnating.

Quote:
Nintendo is planning to release Dragalia Lost in Canada, the United Kingdom, and Australia in the future.

It already released a couple weeks ago.

I'm hoping the changes are still-to-come. I like Dragalia a lot, but the wyrmite (primary in-game currency) is too difficult to come buy, and summoning costs too much. I can't even get imagine spending real money on the game as it is now, because the average 10-summon seldom yields anything good, and costs approximately $20, which is obscene.

$20 for a 10 pull is kinda cheap compared to other gacha. They usually are $30-$50 depending which premium currency bundle you get. But $20 for a chance at nothing is still bogus and why I don't play gacha games.

Confused about the article, unless I, a daily player since day 1 am blind. I dont recall anything having a price drop. In fact, compared to granblue fantasy to price of somethings are actually comparable (that pay $25 or so for a guaranteed 5* thing they had for a banner one is like GBFs similar thing).

I for one actually want more paying options, where's my suptix.

The game needs more reasons to actually spend money on it.

Also buying Dianthium is just plain strange outside of value packs.

Article is blatantly lying. The price negoation was BEFORE the game came out. NOTHING was changed afterwards - nothing was changed in RESPONSE to player complaints. Unless they meant player complaitns from OTHER games....which still makes no sense because the prices are pretty much exactly the same as they are in other Cygame games. However, like other Cygame games, it's REALLY "generous" compared to pretty much every other gacha.

And was pointed out already,

is incorrect. It was released a week ago. https://dragalialost.com/en/news/information/4349

Honestly, me and my friends probably wouldn't be playing if Nintendo's name wasn't attached. We've put some money in too.

TBH it isnt "stagnant" as new content comes ou frequently and story is decent.

Its the unit powercreep thats the issue.

even powercreep units get powercrept too soon and then add in untis that are oppressive (surtr/brave lyn/L.azura are examples) and recently its the "armor" untis that are beign added all time (which people hate).

my experience as a F2P FEH player who frequents the games subreddit.

We're repeating what the developers said. That's their claim to the Wall Street Journal based on what was in their financial report. If it's a lie, well, then maybe they're trying to shirk off responsibility to their investors in their financial report by blaming Nintendo? But ANN didn't put these words in their mouth.
