I have noticed that in order to subscribe to the new server I need to open a pay pal account.
I would very much like to subscribe and thus show my (albeit humble) support for this great site, but a virtual bank account like pay pal is not really a valid option for me, mainly because of the region I live in.

Is there any way for me to subscribe without opening such an account? Could I simply send you the money or my credit card details? (Like I do with all my on line orders?)

I fully realize that the subscription option is directed primarily at those who have no problem with pay pal, but is there really no other way for me (and for others like me) to show support for ANN?

Thanks in advance.

I actually brought up this question to the staff. Which Tempest answer saying he would look into the issue. I haven't seen an answer yet but mine quess is wait until they add a money order option to the fold.

Oops, I didn't know this matter was already brought up. Sorry.

Actually you don't need to open a paypal account. You can just enter your credit card info and paypal will process it as a one-time payment.

And what about the note at the beginning:
Quote:
Signing up for a PayPal account will be required to complete this purchase.

After I enter my credit card details I do need to open such an account, i.e. I need to enter a password etc.
Isn't it the same as opening an account?
I'm sorry for insisting on this matter, it is just that on the one hand, PayPal is not really a valid option for me since I don't live in the USA (or in the short list of countries that fully support this method), and on the other hand I really want to subscribe. Sad

Hmm, ok... when I did the payment integraton about 1 month ago there used to be an option to either require a paypal account or let users pay directly with their credit card. That option is now gone. It seems that paypal have decided it is in their best interest to force users to create an account. I'm really sorry but it seems there's nothing I can do about it. It's too late to integrate with a non-screwy payment provider; there just aren't enough subscriptions to justify the development time it would take Sad

I see.
Thanks a lot for your help, Dan42, and I really hope more people will subscribe, so a non paypal option will be available in the future. Smile
