Such a cringeworthy ad for marketing purpose on Lagoon's manga return...
By now, I've given up on a proper sequel to Black Lagoon. Seriously, it's been long overdue and if somehow a miracle happens in a few years, I fear it will be lackluster like that of what happened to the fourth season of FMP.

FMP was done by a different studio, and Black lagoon is not a Mecha, so it can't possibly have the same issues. providing they get the same director back, I can not see why the show will be lacklustre, outside of the source material.

How exactly? They only have to follow the manga. That's half of the storyboard done to the director. FMP is a LN.

I don't see why there can't be a new series of Black Lagoon. Full Metal Panic and A Certain Magical Index have both been successfully re-started after considerable (and comparable) gaps, and even if they can't get the original director there's plenty of others out there who could take over.
Bottom line, if Hiroe Rei wants to do another anime series, it'll probably get done. And there's more than enough unadapted manga to do at least a 1-cour series, maybe even 2-cours.

Man, the picture and half the headline had me really excited.

Glad to see they did a little animation for this. I think it shows there's still interest in animating more of this at some point.

Such a tease! I want more Black Lagoon anime. But I guess there isn't a lot of material for it, right? Also, it would be neat for it to retain the Ocean cast for the dub, like with Roberta's Blood Trail.

Yup. We need more and we need that dub cast back if it ever happens.
Yeah, I've wondered how much more content there is so far beyond where Roberta's Blood Trail stopped?

There's at least 1 cours worth, maybe 2 cours if you stretch or throw in some filler.
