Since this morning, pretty much every time I've tried to click on a comments section page or a page on the forums, I've gotten a page with the following error message:

Quote:
We're terribly sorry but an unexpected error occured while accessing this page.

Thank you for your understanding.

The page's address is always the "www.animenewsnetwork.com" version, not the "fast.animenewsnetwork.com" version, but when I reload the page in my browser, it loads correctly, and with the "fast" version.

Edit: it looks like it is now properly redirecting me to the fast version automatically, but the non-fast version is still giving me the errors.

I got that error three times just trying to get to the reply box to post this. It was happening all day yesterday too, although it seemed to start with "site down for maintenance" and "server busy" messages first. Now it's just the "unexpected error" every time I click on a new page. I also get it when trying to access the review articles, not just on the forum.

There have also been really long "waiting for animenewsnetwork.com" times when trying to access the forum or click on links, which time out if I leave them be. If I click the link or reload the page twice, then it will usually respond.

I've been getting the error messages on the non-fast version too for the past few days, regardless of whether I'm logged in or not on mayu-chan. This happens when I try to post, click on articles, and view forum threads.

Now I'm also getting random "site unavailable" messages along with the other glitches. And like horseradish, I'm also in Northern CA, if that's any clue.

I'm getting the errors too, but even outside of that, the site is being slooooooooooooooooow.

Yeah, very frequent 500 internal server errors here too, though most resolve by refreshing the page.

Damn, sorry I missed this over the weekend, but I think it should be fixed now.

I dunno. I just tried to post a reply and the page and reply box came up fine, but within the Topic Review field I got the "Currently Unavailable" page, complete with character illustration. Usually if it's going to be fussy it's just the title bar and no field below.

I got sidetracked looking something up though, so maybe you fixed it after that happened and I only just saw it. I'll let you know if it happens again.

Thanks!

Well, I'm no longer getting the random "unexpected error," "site down," or "server overloaded" messages, but the lag time is still ridiculously long. Every page takes at least 40 seconds to load, if it loads at all, or times out at 1:40 to the "Site unavailable" page (Cloudflare error 520 or 521, if that's useful).

At least when it was throwing those other errors, reloading would usually get past it, so in a way this is worse.

The site is usually notoriously slow for me at around 5pm (CET+2)

Later in the evening or night, like now, it's running fine, though.

Interesting. If I'm understanding the time conversion that's 8 am PDT? (I've seen it written UTC +2, but not CET +2, so I'm not sure)

For me, I've about given up even trying to read anything, let alone post, between about 7am-10:30am PDT. I guess all the East coasters and trans-Atlantic folks are logging on then. I think I got one post through this morning (though it still appeared as a "server overloaded" message instead of a confirmation on my end), but lost another before I remembered to save before submitting. That took about 45 min (loading the articles, reloading x 5 to get the rating widget to appear, reading, bringing up the reply screen, composing).
