From what I understand, different teams rotate and work on block of consecutive episodes concurrently so I wonder if most of the studios take Golden Week into account during spring production and schedule something around it, like starting earlier, bringing on extra team or allowing one team to go on break while compensating the other with a deferred break or extra pay?

Hi. OP here. Since you obviously didn't read any further than the title before you posted your comment, let's go back and look at the article, shall we?

Hey, it's Golden Week! What effect does the holiday have on anime production, if everyone's taking a week off? On the flip side, do ratings go up from people having more free time to watch? |
See, if you look at it, that question doesn't ask what Golden Week is at all. It presumes that everyone gets a week off, and then asks what kind of effect that has on both production and viewership. Then the article helps out the new reader with context by spelling out what Golden Week is, who does and doesn't work during it, and then answers what it can about the effect on anime, and solicits anecdotal information in the comments.

Every time I hear of Golden Week, I think of this line from "Lucky Star":
Minoru: Man, that didn't feel like a vacation at all!

TBH, what prompted me to send this Q in was my crappy mobage getting really generous for Golden Week, and now I'm playing the hell out of it to load up on fake money and SSRs.

It's 2018 and people have lost the ability to read more than a headline in one sitting, but not the ability to write a paragraph about it.

Did you read the article? It explains a lot more than just what Golden Week is, including information I'm not confident you could previously find on the Internet.
On the subject of the actual article...man, being an animator in Japan is rough. "So, Kirito-san, what are you doing for Golden Week?" "Working on Hajimete no Gal. Anime boobs can't take a break."
