Hopefully this means they will be putting out more console apps soon. I'd really like to see their simulcasts for this season on my Roku.

When they get a PS4 or Fire Stick app THEN we'll be cooking.

This is a good step forward. And even though I am ok watching HIDIVE on my laptop, I would prefer an app for my PS3.

HiDive for PS4 please! Or at least add chromecast abilities to the current Android app so I don't have to use Miracast to stream it.

Same here. Or PS4. Any way to get the sweet 4K out of my TV.

I doubt they would make apps for last generation consoles.

Does the Switch have apps? I thought that was something that Nintendo (I would assume purposefully) did not include.

Just got a 4K Roku TV, so I'm hoping to see a Roku channel soon.

Please! Please! Please get the Roku app out soon. I can't stand watching things on my iPad. I wanna watch it on the big screen.

Does the iPad not have a HDMI-out port? My $70 Chinese tablet does.

I'm kind of surprised they'd develop for Apple TV first. Their market share is only about 15% and has been falling, where Roku is 30% and growing.
It's not good business sense for HIDive. I'm wondering if some Apple fan boy logic involved. I'm not saying it's a terrible idea but it's smarter to chase dollars.

That’s actually what they are doing. Apple TV has a higher sell through on subscriptions than Roku, even with smaller market share. It’s the same phenomenon that happens with iOS devices. I’m not even sure if you can buy subscriptions through a Roku, as it’s been a few years since I’ve used one. Even with their percentage of the remaining flat or slightly declining, AppleTV sales continue to increase.
You also have to remember that Apple’s TVOS uses the same basic underpinnings as iOS. So the AppleTV was probably a lot less work, as HiDive has had an iOS app for quite some time and Apple has more development tools available than Roku, at the moment. Their development team is probably more experienced with the Apple ecosystem as well, so it would make sense that they would work out the bugs in the AppleTV app first.
But regardless, the Roku app is being tested. They even had a closed beta recently for it, so it should be launching fairly soon. The two were being developed alongside each other, it’s just that the AppleTV version was finished and approved first.
