This game is more than I could ever dream of. Square and this development team has given me and fans of FFXV so much more than we were ever promised in terms of additional content and updates. This is great news for the future of the franchise! Even if some had complaints and behaved super salty online about the initial release, they have definitly turned things around for the better. I LOVE THIS GAME! The road trip aspect with my bros was magical and sweet!

It is very endearing to see how much love they’ve poured into FFXV. They’ve made sure that there’s been a steady stream of content ever since launch. And even if you could argue that a good chunk of it belonged in the original version, there’s no denying this game would have taken another three years to make. So I’m not upset that they’re doing it in this fashion.

At least SE continues to fill in the huge gaps in the story and the base game got a noticeable amount of free dlc too. Still, i truly hope that the VII remake and XVI will get more coherent 1.0 versions.
VII to even XIII got complete feeling first releases too, even if they got updated versions later. Yet SE then discovered finishing games though DLC with the otherwise fun XIII-2 and here were are Sad .

There is also no way that there is hope for Kingdom Hearts 3 at launch. It equally spend a decade+ in development and continues to have Nomura as the director. So expect the same post-release odyssey there... and another delay.

Kingdom Hearts 3 didn't start development a decade ago. We've certainly been waiting over a decade, but in that time, we got several games to bridge the gap. Ever since the game was finally announced, it's been consistent, with the only hiccup being the change to Unreal Engine. The one who released FFXV as it was and patched in DLC later was Tabata Hajime, not Nomura.
I'm not going to say it can't still have a messy release, but if it does, it'll be a completely separate issue from FFXV. One does not becon the other.

Well, XV really needs this extra chapters cause its main story sucks ass as hell. Setting aside it being a visual masterpiece, XV belonged to the "meh" tier category.

My original thought that "I'll play it when it's done," is not turning out great.

Hahaha, truth hurts for a casual fan. I bet you haven't even touched the old SNES/PS1 FF classics to realize that XV is such a "meh" title compared to those masterpiece Laughing

Besides, what's there to be salty in this game? I don't even understand your rebuttal Anime hyper

....ANNNDDD that's when the FF fans begin to war with one another.

Also, I swear, as soon as the topic of a specific iteration comes up, it's like there's some sort of impulse to say how much you don't like that installment or the series to make oneself feel special.

It's like some sort of massive phenomena of stupid and egotism, I swear.

I think the current trend of having a big game on release and more of the same game you liked more then a year later to be really cool. Xenoblade having a similar release slate with that big expansion coming as me super excited for more. I see these dlcs as mini sequels. Things they couldn't do back in the days.

I'm really looking forward to more XV dlc. It is my personnal favorite FF game.
