Kobayashi is one of the most popular (older) seiyuu. She has tons of fans due to her eccentric behavior and not having a bland/cheery facade like almost every other seiyuu out there. Of course she does amazing voice work as well. Congrats to her and her husband!

I know this is just how ANN does headlines but it's kind of bothersome to see such a prolific and unique seiyuu being reduced to one single role, a secondary one at that (although as a whole I'm of the opinion that a series shouldn't be in the headline if it isn't relevant to the newspiece)
Former model, seiyuu with an eccentric personality, abstract artist and metal vocalist as a side job. She's an anime character herself. |

Congratulations to the happy couple! (Hopefully the fanbase will be well behaved about it though as Kobayashi isn't the typical sanitized idol and is in her mid 30s I am guessing it won't inspire the outrage some seiyuu dating/engagement/marriage reveals receive.)
This is true but man, do I feel ancient realizing Kobayashi now counts as one of the 'older' batch  I'm still not done adjusting to Takahiro Sakurai not being new much less now being considered a veteran! How time flies...

I mean, I'd put her in the same age group as Kana Hanazawa, been around for a good while and done a lot of notable work, but she's only 35, so I wouldn't really consider her old. Pretty much right in the midst of her prime, more like. Anyway, congrats to her. She's got an incredibly entertaining voice, and her work as Konatsu, in particular, really captivated me. |

Just finished like 4 or 5 anime with her from this year. Literally minutes ago finished Rakugo and she was absolutely perfect in her role as Konatsu. I know she's popular but I feel like she's very underrated in the West now days. Timing of this announcement did make me laugh considering I usually don't see her much stuff that I watch and in the short time where she's easily in my life, I see this announcement. Very happy for her. I wish her the best
