Wow - what a lucky guy - he was married to Vanilla! I can only be envious of him! Well it looks like things are smooth between them anyways because life seems to be going on fine for them both right now...

Considering they discussed it for yrs, one would assume the old "grew apart" bit. I don't know about here, but he has been fairly popular so one could even suggest conflicting schedules maybe made seeing one another difficult, the old becoming strangers idea. It also depends on how old they were when they married. Are you still the same person you were in what was it-1994? Or have you matured & grown, & maybe your interests have changed? Actors are supposed to be even more mercurial, aren't they? And there's also the ego thing--if one career takes off & the other goes into decline, sometimes performers can't deal with it. Some guys can't stand their wife making a bigger paycheck.
Yamadera's no slouch, kokuryu--Spike Spiegel? I know he was actually Minekura's choice for Sha Gojyo according to the Saiyuki manga.

That's too bad.
They were probably Japan's highest-profile seiyu couple.
The next most popular that I can think of are Mitsuo Iwata and Rikako Aikawa.

What about Sho Hayami & Rei Igarashi? I don't follow the female VA's all that much, but I do like him--love his voice.
Or Omi Minami & Yuji Ueda

Iwata and Aikawa have (had?) a radio show together, that's why I said them. I don't know if the others you mentioned have worked together publicly as a couple.

Hayami & Igarashi were in Record of Lodoss:Chronicles.
Ueda & Minami were both in Doki Doki School Hours & Martian Successor Nadesico

This is really sad news. It's sad whenever a divorce happens. I have never talked to a divorced person who said "I'm glad I went through that." So, if it's just because they grew apart, it's really sad that they have to go through a divorce.
