Interesting. Because as you can read at the end of article. SE wants to sell IO Interactive because of huge loss of money in latest fiscal year. You can read more about it here: http://www.hd.square-enix.com/eng/news/pdf/20170511_01en.pdf

It says that SE lost 4898 million of yen (44 mln $).

So...

Because Hitman didn't do well and now SE operates differently under their new president. They now prioritize only those IPs that sell.

It wasn't my point. News tells about profit but SE actually lost money.
