It'll be nice to have the real deal again, and not those American knock-offs from China.

Bandai's toys are also made in China (at least the ones that I own are).
I bet Bandai is hoping for a revival of DBZ's popularity with the upcoming live action movie, granted they'll have to some patience.

Your argument is baseless. When Irwin had the licence their figures of the time were better than Bandai's in every way. When Jakks bought the licence from Irwin they also bought all of their molds and hired a few of their sculptors. Some of their original products weren't quite as good as Irwin's at first, but they improved quickly. In the end Jakks even imported many of Bandai's Japanese figures. I'm pretty positive you have no idea what you're talking about.

Anyway, I'm sure they did this in anticipation of the new live action movie.

Cool beans. Say what you want about Dragon Ball Z, but this is something to look forward to (for me). I've always liked the shows' toys. Cool

Yep, got to love the Irwin Toys figures. To bad those days are over, but anywhos. Atleast Jakk's no longer producing them. As my only problem with Jakk(beside some really shotty molds), was their retail appeal. Jakk, as a toy company has very limited appeal, I've seen more Gundam items in Toys"R"Us recently(as in the span of a year), then all of Jakk's DragonBall figures. And, the only figures I can find with the Jakk's Pacific name are Pokemon, which are not very great looking either, nor are they my kind of figure.

Yeah I bought a couple of Jakk's Pokemon figures this year and while the sculps were nice (about the same quality you'd expect from Tomy but almost 2.5x larger), the paint jobs were really shoddy. I had to inspect the figures closely in the store because so many had paint errors. It's really a shame. I don't remember it being such a problem with DBZ, although I only own a few of that series.
