Well, you're need to check the illustator of the novel, who is very known in hentai community - he's now writing very lewd straight shotacon manga in Dengeki G about the "adoptive" older sister... who's basically spoiler[Shub-Niggurath]. And it's based on his own H-doujins series, which he still drawing for Comiket.

It's actually pretty sweet a manga (Ane Naru Mono, not the DJ though as I haven't read it so I don't know) as far as I've read (I read it a while back so I can't remember too well, but I only just learned that it's the same artist. No wonder I liked their art!) Plus an ara ara big sis spoiler[monster] is pretty great. It's cute seeing how she spoiler[starts to learn about what normal life is, and has to learn not to kill stuff even if it's something that makes her brother sad.]

Who would want to bring their mom to get a light novel about moms. That is just weird given the art and content that usually finds its way into light novels like this one.

The store chain wasn't particular about who customers claimed was there mother, accepting both men and hug pillows as stand-ins.

I'm amazed that the artist got leeway to do both the clean serialized version and the adult doujin version of Ane Naru Mono. And never has spoiler[a cthulhu Elder God] looks so cute and sexy.

お母さん can be an outsider politely referring to someone else's mom, someone politely talking to their own mother or to an immediate family member about mother, or in certain cases the mother referring to herself to her son.

The other problem is simply there is no possessive pronoun in the Japanese title, it's, more literally, "With a normal attack that attacks at full power two times, do you like mom?" The implication is that she is asking it herself, I believe, based on ad, so more like "do you like me?"

I don't know what you'd call the "mother" equivalent of loli, but from what I've seen, there is rising interest in stuff like that in Japan. It will be interesting to see if it becomes a fully-realized trend, but it doesn't surprise me at all that something like this sold very well nor would it surprise me if we see more of the like in the future.

Actually when I wrote that post I hadn't listened to the PV yet, but yeah, the female narrator of it is very much along the lines of what I expected, voice-wise.

At this point that "Transported to another world" as you put it has become a genre. Just like you'll see thriller's coming out every day, you'll start seeing them same for this. You might not like them, but you're just part of a small group that doesn't. Might as well get used to it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I actually really like the concept and the art but I'd like it more if it was a non-sexy mother so there wouldn't be creepy fanservice that's crossing into "my mum is so hot even I, her son, is turned on by her).

This sounded like it's going to be a great read, though I'd prefer to have it animated instead and hope that it can receive an adaptation someday. I'm genuinely not surprised at all to see some people that saw this and quickly associated it with sexual innuendo, rather than positively thinking that the work in question might serve a purpose as a good, family isekai adventures.
