With such a tittle most likely an full cour of anime, i guess the response for that OVA that they made was good and kinda helped them decide if they should or shouldnt make more of it.

Thatd be great. Either toei or perriot. The only two studios who are willing to respect their anime enough to give them long running shows. Other studios would give them 12 eps, 25 at best and forget it existed. Sad truth. No one gets nostalgically attached like that. Hence why the love for the big 3 and dbz is really strong. |

Lol no, look at Boku no Hero Academia, it is having a season 2 already and every episode has much better quality than the crap Toei and Pierrot pull on their ongoing forever anime with bunch of fillers, and they usually tone down the violence too |

Yea I looked at MHA. It was supposed to be the next naruto. Lol not with 13 episodes. With an episode count smaller than an arc of naruto, it may as well be dead. Why do u think it didn't blow up? If u want a popular battle shonen, it has to eb long running or it has to offer something else. I watch op, naruto and dbs on the regular. They are all great shows. The op gets slow at times, its still amazing. Now if Madhouse or A1 is willing to animate the series to its entirety, Im completely fine. But madhouse prefer making 12 or 25 episode shows with no sequels in sight. 13 eps a year is just pathetic |

Without a doubt it's gonna be an anime adaption. The OVA was just a test in my mind to see if people liked it and the reception to it was reasonably good and hopefully the sales are too. Besides, with it always being in the top 5 manga of WSJ I'm not surprised with it getting an anime. If it is, hopefully Madhouse or BONES get it. Wasn't too keen on how Xebec handled the character designs sometimes.
Black Clover only has 90 chapters out at the time of this article and is currently in the middle of an arc. Even if it only got a 2-cour, 25 episodes is more than enough to burn through two thirds of that 90 chapter total, providing that the pacing and number of chapters adapted per episode is reasonably done. If it's a 1-cour, then it'll probably cover up to chapter 21/22 which is a reasonable amount of content. If the studio opts for a 2-cour then I'd say somewhere around chapter 50/60. Providing that it's an anime announcement of course. |

They better not cram 90 chapters into 25 episodes. Also, if it gets announced now, Id imagine itd come at least after 25 chapters. So its entirely possible for it to have a long running anime. |

I've never tried this series, but I'm always curious about it when it shows up on ANN. To anyone willing to share some insight, are there any, or maybe several series it could be compared to in vibe, storytelling style, quality, ect? I've gotten burned a lot diving head first into some really mediocre shonens lately and I'm a completionist so I have a hard time dropping them once I start. As such, I'd really like to get a general idea of if this one is worth it before I go any further.
Some shonen I'm intimately familiar with: One Piece, Hunter x Hunter. Fullmetal Alchemist, Soul Eater, Bleach, Naruto, Inuyasha, My Hero Academia, Dragon Ball. I have at least base knowledge of many others though so I guess just whatever you feel is the best comparison. Thanks in advance! |

Nah, Pierrot sucks. They ruined Tokyo Ghoul anime. I love Naruto but there was too much filler in it.. I wouldn't say Pierrot is that great..Toei, not so sure..we'll have to find out lol. |

Although I agree they ruined TG because the rushed it and created an alternate plot, I dont agree with them mishandling naruto. Naruto was amazing. Filler has to happen (when the manga is running at least). Filler replaces a hiatus. What do u want them to do in that hiatus? Lay off their staff? Why? Its much better they give the fans more content and make money doing it. Win-win. No ones forced to watch filler so the people who hate them can skip them |

Bold #1: Just because Naruto has now finished and a new series has taken it's place, does not mean that it has to be an exact replica. Sure, it's a shounen series and you're gonna get the same common tropes but they still have their differences. And FYI, MHA is a pretty successful series in itself. Bold #2: It's always best to play it safe and go with 1-cour these days so that the studio's aren't sinking even more money into producing longer shows that could potentially flop. To you a 13 episode 1-cour show might pail in comparison to a long running show like Naruto or One Piece, but those animes were produced years back. Method's change over the years. Bold #3: My Hero Academia ranked 7th on the New York Times top 10 International TV Shows of 2016 which is quite a reasonable accolade considering Anime isn't as popular in America as it is in Japan. Proof: http://www.nytimes.com/2016/12/05/arts/television/best-tv-shows.html?_r=2 Bold #4: And that's probably why you're so narrow-minded to shows such as MHA. It's still a shounen at the end of the day, the anime is just being handled differently than the big 3's are. Bold #5: Like I already mentioned above, different studio's do things differently. I know I'd much prefer a 12-25 episodes adaptation of the series rather than a long-running one produced by Toei or Peirrot, because I know that the overall animation and art-quality is going to be far superior. And to me, that's much better than it being padded out over a long period of time.
There's no way they'd fit all 90 chapters into a 25 episode series. The pacing would be extremely quick and that didn't bode well for Prison School. it had a lot of chapters so plenty of content to adapt, but a lot of the time it felt so fast-paced you felt like it could of been handled better. And if this anime adaptation is being announced soon, they'll have to decided on a cut-off point which would be suitable for a point for them to pick it up again if a second season were to happen. Chapter 90 is not a good cut-off point as it's mid-arc. I already brought up chapter numbers where they could cut it off.
I'll tell you it how I see it. The first several chapters, especially the first feel exactly like they have elements from Naruto, Bleach and even Fairy Tail. I'm gonna say this now though; ignore that and read it regardless. As you get further into the manga, it starts to break away from that style of story-telling and starts to become it's own thing. I'm sure as you read it you'll still feel that it holds those elements, but I've thoroughly enjoyed reading this series and it's now my favorite series to read each week along with My Hero Academia. Give it a shot![ |
