I wonder why the sent it out to LA? Too busy with their current slate of dubs or is it related to them having dubbed One Punch Man out there, not that there's a tone of crossover aside from sharing an author.

There's also the possibility that the dub was already in production when Crunchyroll licensed it out to Funi. We don't really know yet at this time, though.

I am also inclined to believe that.

So as stated above Crunchyroll had already got Bang Zoom to dub it before Fuimation entered the scene. This is very good news, they've done some very good dubs in the past.

It's going to be awkward with this dub. Max already tore Michael's eye out AND punched Erik in the balls...
So yeah, if Bang Zoom is doing this, I assume they were doing the dub beforehand and just happened to forget their OPM dub thanks to Funi buying the rights. I actually hope Bang Zoom does more roles for Funimation; it will get more dubs out and allow more union projects.

That probably explains the delay, too. Adding another party to it slows things down. I thought maybe the delay was because it was going to replace Kai on Toonami, but that obviously didn't happen, so I had no idea what the hold up was, especially since this was probably the biggest of the previous CR shows that Funi was going to dub.

That's great, now all they've gotta do now is getting functional apps.

And then there's Iron Blooded Orphans, which all five of them were in. Only one of them survived the end of the first season.

FINALLY. I've been waiting for this announcement. But I'm honestly familiar with absolutely none of these people's work. Can someone who is give their thoughts on the casting? Funimation's more recent dub work has been kind of underwhelming for me, but since they're apparently outsourcing this one, I don't really know what to expect. I just hope it will be at least better than One Punch Man's misguided English version.

Ya know, I was going to answer your question until you mentioned this part. The fact that I honestly can't even wrap my head around what part of that dub felt so misguided to you that it left a bad taste in your mouth makes me wonder if it would even matter whether or not I explain who the voice actors are and their credentials.

I know that some people really like it, but I just couldn't get behind it. I really wanted to like it, too. Saitama isn't bad once you get used to him, I guess. Though does my difference in opinion really warrant you choosing not to answer my question and the condescending tone? We can't all like the same things.

I don't really care who's dubbing it so long as it gets dubbed and dubbed right.

None of these actors work with Funimation; as said, this dub was outsourced to California.
Kyle McCarley: Mikazuki Angus in Gundam IBO, Ryota Watari in Your Lie in April.
Chris Niosi: Dezel in Tales of Zestiria
Max Mittelman: Saitama in One Punch Man, Inaho Kaizuka in Aldnoah.Zero, Kosei Arima in Your Lie in April, Jun Shiratori in Erased
Michael Sorich: Black Zetsu in the first Naruto anime, Crablante in One Punch Man
Erik Scott Kimerer: Ayato Amagiri in The Asterisk War, Sonic in One Punch Man, Ryuji Takasu in Toradora, Haruyuki Arita in Accel World.
I don't know too much about Niosi, but all the rest are really good actors. I also don't know much about this show (I decided to hold off until the dub after watching Toonami's run on OPM), but if McCarley gives a similar performance to his Mikazuki, he should be great.
