Damn, looks like Sega is getting into the entertainment biz!
Hope that thing with Nintendo and movies follows suit.
House of the Dead and Virtua Fighter getting TV and or movie adaptions.
Well, lets see how this goes.
*crosses fingers for no silly random people shooting zombies or random game clip effects*

I can see Streets of Rage being a decent martial arts flick, but I'm not gonna lie, I don't have much hope that either of the two will be any good, especially Altered Beast. I want to be proven wrong though. House of the Dead could be good, dunno about Crazy Tazi or Virtua Fighter lol. Shinobi and Golden Axe could be alright as well.

I love Streets of Rage, but...this seems like a horrible idea.

If the premises of these franchises are taken with as little seriousness as the typical video gamer would do, it is likely that an amusingly nostalgic experience would be the end result. That said, the appeal would probably last as long as a typical play-through of the original games in question. (In the case of Streets of Rage 2, I could never pass the second level's boss at the standard difficulty setting. His jet-pack made for a most uneven engagement.)

I sure as hell wouldn't mind seeing a crazy taxi movie so long as it lives up to the crazyness of the original arcade game.

Streets of Rage? People have forgotten Streets of Fire was a thing, huh? Although I guess that's more Double Dragon.

He's cheap as hell but nowhere near as annoying as the alien boss at the amusement park.

I don't think this will do well, nowadays movies have moved away from the style this has. This would've been great in the 90's.
But by all means if they make a good movie I hope it makes decent money, hopefully they could adapt the Yakuza series

They need to have the original audio for the intro to Altered Beast as well as the "Power up!" voice. That's so critical to the true Altered Beast experience.

This is basically what is going to happen.
"Okay! Altered Beast. What's the premise here?"
"Uh, you eat flying blue spheres from the sky and turn into a furry."
"PERFECT! Turn the red one into a girl, give them a shaky romance, and set it against an ancient Greek political drama. We'll make the title a metaphor for the changing state of Athens during the Peloponnesian War. Bring in the monster effects every 3rd episode. What else we got?"
"Um... DARE the video game."
"Okay, great, it's Breaking Bad meets Bloodsport. Lose the wrestler, lose the kangaroo, and take the black kid off the roller blades, put him in a wheelchair instead. He can be stuck in an inner city school and his older brother will have to knock over pharmacies to get his meds. Meanwhile, his cop friend, who heads the RAGE program has to investigate and hunt him down while the mayor's daughter is entangled in a love pentagon with the cop, the brother, the OTHER brother, a kangaroo handler, and a steroid-riddled wrestler. These streets will rage like a m'fer. Anything else?"
"Mmm, Ninjas, Zombies, Cabbies, and Virtual Reality Violence."
*Head explodes*

While this certainly can appease the gamers, the downside is that video game-based movies tend to be box-office flops. However, the "Resident Evil" movie franchise is 1 of the top video game-based movie franchises.
