Nice! I think this will be a good pick-up. Now the only question is if Crunchyroll will stream it...Crunchy should hurry up with those announcements!

See this and the lack of a dub announcement from crunchyroll when they officially entered the physical release market tells me that Re: Zero is licensed by Sentai Filmworks. Which isn't a bad thing, just will have to wait a while for the dub.

It's been licensed by Anime Limited for the UK so what would stop Sentai announcing they have the license?

I dont care who grabs Re:Zero as long as it comes out at a decent pace. I dont care for dubs, but I hope to god they at least get Pack's name right unlike the CR subtitles calling him "Puck" all the time despite the japanese spelling be very clearly Pack.
As for this show....I really hope WF has a good writer behind it. Originals are harde

A little knowledge is a dangerous thing. Puck is written パック in Japanese, whether talking about a hockey puck, the god, or pucker. Pack and puck are written the same way in katakana, go take a look in a Japanese dictionary. So the subtitles are equally correct. In fact, I would argue that パック sounds more like English Puck than Pack, but strictly speaking it is neither and both.
This is not unusual in katakana, because the common short u pronunciation in English isn't the same sound as Japanese short mora u, although it's closer in the Scottish accent. Similarly, ballet and volley(ball) have the same katakana, despite different English vowel sounds.

I kind of hope that Sentai gets Re:Zero, because then it might get one of their extravagant collector's editions. We know that if Crunchyroll/Funimation gets it, it will probably be a competent but uninspiring release. I don't care for dubs either, but I hope Re:Zero gets a good one because a) it could help boost its mainstream appeal and b) I would gladly take another excuse to watch it again.

Seems I am in the minority and hope Crunchyroll/ Funimation get it. yeah it will have a boring collector's edition, but it at least it won't have bumblebee text and a decent dub, as Sentai's dubs lately aren't as great as they have been. I mean sentai is pretty good and all, but at least with Crunchyroll/ Funimation, both sub and sub fans will be happy.

True. I guess I have mixed feeling about who gets it. I've never seen a Sentai dub, so I don't know what theirs' are like...
I want it to get a good dub. But I want it to get a good collector's edition, too.

Like you either company is good both for their dub and big shows getting nice collectors editions. If this show was release from aniplex or ponycan I will never pick up the release.
I made the mistake of getting monogataris from aniplex because the first 2 sets bake/nise are very nice and have all the eps. Than they went with the vol releases which look and feel cheap but cost 10/12 dollars an eps and over all spent over 800 and its not finish still have 24 eps and 3 movies left which will be was over 300 dollars more to finish the whole show.
Than you look at fmab from funi which has close to the same amount of eps you get one of the best english dubs and nice subtitling before it went oop for less than 100 dollars and the big set of the old show for about 200
In other words sentai and funi picking up any title is great news and I will never pick up a vol release from aniplex or ponycan hope you won't either and maybe they will stop this 4-7 eps on one set and go the normal 12 or 24

I agree. I wanted to get Kill la Kill a while ago (partly because I wanted the series on my shelf, partly because I wanted to see the OVA), but, being from Aniplex, it's only available as five DVDs at 40-50 bucks apiece. Sigh.

The worst is Gurren Lagann blu ray. They have a very nice dvd old release of Gurren Lagann and could just replace the dvd disk with the blu rays in the box that the dvds come in and I would of pay alot for it but they instead of put out vols of Gurren Lagann blu ray in these weird cheap looking sideways slipcovers...
btw I only buy blu rays because I have a 70in tv and 480p looks muddy at that size
