For once, a "special announcement" that met my unreasonable expectations. I loved the first season and I hope this one also gets licensed in the US, even if it's not by NISA.

Neat! I was pleasantly surprised by this series, didn't expect it to get another season though! I hope NISA will also pick this one up too (though I suppose it would depend on how well the first series did for them)

The 1st season of The Eccentric Family is one of my favorite anime. I'm so glad to hear that it's getting a 2nd season!

OMG, seriously?!! This is one amazing announcement I never expected to hear! I absolutely loved the first season, and I immediately pre-ordered it once it became available from NISA.
Speaking of NISA, I would absolutely love to have this picked up by them, but I don't really expect it to happen. |

That was one of the most amusing author comments I've read in awhile.
I'm of course excited for this, and I trust the author, but what will this be about? The story wrapped up pretty well in the first season. But more Yasaburo can't help but be entertaining, so bring it on! There was no Blu-ray box set for this in Japan until now? How did that happen? Yeah, NISA needs to dust themselves off and get back to releasing anime. I need them to do both seasons of Rakugo and the next season of Natsume, and now this. Whose ear to I whisper into? |

This was probably on the top 5 of "News I never expect to happen". I'm super excited about it! It's one of my favorite all time anime series and my favorite anime from 2013, I never expected it to come back! The original series was basically perfect, but if there are more strories on the novels to tell, you won't hear me complain. I can't believe we're actually getting more of it, can't wait!

I honestly am surprised, but of the pleasant variety. I thought the series was based on a completed book so there was no more new material for a sequel.
