I like plots where the characters have memories of their past lives so I'm interested in this.
Expected anime announcement is expected.

I'd rather see one that's not reincarnated from Japan, though. Tales of Demons and Gods, Tsuyokute New Saga, Sayounara Ryuusei Konnichiwa Jinsei would be cool to see animated. Or, if it has to be reincarnated from Japan, there are some with female protagonists that don't quite follow the "and now I'm the main character in a tropey RPG!" story, such as "How Ordinary?!" or the one with the girl who can see elemental spirits (can't remember the name).

This sounds like another poorly written pile of garbage full of overused tropes
They should just adapt fan fictions instead of LNs tbqh

I like this story because of how the MC becomes good at magic.

That's... seems awfully clichéd.

An author in the 21st century literally named his work "Knights & Magic"

LNs are a biproduct of people with no artistic talent or writing ability or technical knowhow
And most of the time, no creativity either

I read the first volume a long time ago and it was such a chore to go through it. The anime might have some good action but don't expect a well written story from this LN.

Fate/Zero and The Twelve Kingdoms are LN and I wouldn't call either a biproduct of people with no artistic talent or writing ability.

Or they're made by people with a genuine love and passion for the material and are free to write whatever the hell they want.

I just read the first 3 chapters of the manga adaptation and it actually does avoid some typical tropes. For example, while the protagonist is a mecha otaku he's a properly working adult rather than some loser shut in NEET we usually see.

The average LN - or WN, even - is better than the average fanfic by far.

This lame reincarnation trend will be rebelled against soon with stories of people who rebel into shitty worlds filled with violence suffering and despair. It'll be an exercise in bludgeoning the goodness out of people and characters will die at random, probably. That seems to be how these author trends cycle through. Take a plot, run it into the ground, darken it up and make everyone a target.

Can't wait!

Also I don't hate these kinds of plots, but I kinda wish they'd do more with it. Just seeing someone drop out of life and pop up in another world that's awesome and full of magic and beautiful people without any sort of sense of shellshock from leaving the previous realm is hard to stomach.

The reincarnation fantasy wasn't nearly so overused in 2010 -- before Re:Monster, Mushoku Tensei, J. Random Otome-Game Villainess SI, or just about any other you can name.

In fact, while I'm pretty sure this wasn't the first, I'm hard-pressed to think of any webnovel in the genre that predates it.

I can't think of any noticeable "reincarnated into another world" novel beside Mushoku Tensei so I can't really agree about the fast judgement on your part. In fact, I even read a first 1 or 2 volumes and it got fair share of interesting ideas although you can argue whether or not it's well executed. A large part of the plot is dedicated to describing the construction of the single mecha and how MC constantly fails to make one despite his otaku obsessions. There is also a decent build-up towards the display of MC prowess (namely magic in the K&M world being basically programming scripts).
