So, how tall is life-size here? I'm just trying to imagine one of these statues, and you know, some measurements would sure help. What're we looking at here? 160+ cm?

She looks more womanly than the woman who did her voice, who is probably at least 10 years older than Mumei.

I know, right?! Even now I still have to call bs on Mumei supposing to be only 12. I've accepted that the character's age may be 12, but her design is no way in hell that of a 12 year old. Then again, I think the character designer has trouble drawing characters in the tween/early teen age range because the design Biba had in the flashback to when he was significantly younger(I think it was somewhere between 12 and 14 he was supposed to be at the time) looked almost exactly the same as adult Biba.

Yeah, I don't remember it either, and I've never seen any legit source, but pretty much everyone claims that's her age. And even MAL lists it under her bio.

Damn she's only 12 years old I would have sworn when I watched the show that she was atleast 16 well now I know.

Hmm, this provides an interesting study into the design of anime characters compared to real-life humans.
But she's 12 years old? That's messed up. Like how Yoko from Gurren Lagann is 14 at the beginning of the series, or how May/Haruka in the Generatiion III Pokémon games was supposedly 10 (but 12 at the oldest). Also, shouldn't she be shorter? Unless that lady's pretty short already. |

That's a pretty ridiculous price, how many huge anime fans are multimillionaires. I guess they hope 10 at least. I think the first half of the show was a lot better than the last half, for the story at least. The biba aspect and people turning into giant monsters seemed like the show turned into something else in the second half, and not as good of a something else.

There seems to have been little problem selling items like this in the past, as the lottery system for the chance to purchase one should tell you. (The lottery system isn't new, I've also seen it for other expensive but limited run items). A person doesn't need to be a multimillionaire to purchase this, they just need to earn far more than their living expenses, and decide to spend it on something like this vs. a better place to live, money toward a new(er) car, saving for retirement, etc.. |
